I thought 6-2 or 7-1. Injuries and bad defense.

Shottenheimer was good at winning games in October but lets get healthy and win games in January

I certainly didn't, but I didn't expect 6 starters to be injured on top of Mahomes with a gimpy ankle and then going down with the kneecap.

5-3 is just fine. Get guys healthy. Make a run in the playoffs.

The offense looked as close to normal as it has looked in weeks with our full compliment of skill players finally playing together. First game all season. With how we looked today with them and then with Mahomes and Fisher back we can beat any team in the league. I can’t wait to expose the Patriots and then hopefully we get them again in the playoffs and prove once and for all they can’t stop us.

They’re going to be fine.

They would’ve won tonight with Mahomes.

Half the team was injured. Tonight was actually extremely encouraging to me.

I hope your optimism works out for you. I see a flawed 5-3 team about to be 5-4 with a 1-4 at home after Dalvin Cook rips off 250 yards against us. This team will be lucky if the Raiders and Chargers don’t catch us. Even if they don’t, they’ll lose early in the AFC and then commit 40 mil per year to Mahomes in January so we will become the Marino-era Dolphins but without a single Super Bowl appearance.

I don’t see anything that would be considered optimistic given it’s all been demonstrated before. And despite what many claim, the defense is much better than last season.

Our HFA hasn’t been effective in a long time. I don’t care if we play at home or not.

Mahomes will play next week.

Guarantee it.

Quit panicking. KC lost by 7 against a legit SB contender with their back up QB playing and you're freaking the fuck out.

I had us 6-2 or 5-3.

Our schedule just looked tough to me.

Jacksonville; top-5 defense and Foles at QB. Playoff team two years ago.

Raiders; thought AB was going to play for them.

Ravens; top-5 D and Lamar Jackson was a handful last year. Playoff team last year

Lions; this defense whipped the Patriots last year.

Colts; thought Luck would be back, and he had statistically his one of his best years last year. Playoff team

Texans; Watson, Watt, playoff team

Broncos; top-5 defense, difficult to defend running game

Packers; Aaron Rodgers, good defense, improved running game, Jimmy Graham, Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers

I figured that between the Ravens, Colts, Texans, and Packers, we'd probably lose two or three of those simply because we had to play them basically back-to-back-to-back. It's like we had to play a playoffs at the beginning of the season. And except for the Denver game, the Chiefs really haven't had a chance to take a breath since the Raiders game Week 2.

We will be 7-3 in a couple weeks. Spags is going to fk with Cousins mentally weak ass so badly and Titans with Mahomes back is basically a bye week.

7-3 with games against the Broncos, Raiders, Chargers twice left. We’re in pretty good shape. Especially since beating Oakland alone will basically win us the division at 9 games.

LongSufferingToady
10-28-2019, 02:26 AM
Nope. I thought they would be better than this. But I also didn't expect so many starters to get injured, including Mahomes, and having other teams figuring out all they need to do to win is keep KC's offense off the field.

I had us with 2 losses at this point, with a fully healthy roster. 5-3 isn’t worst case considering all the injuries. Let’s get healthy and see how it goes. This team at 90% health is a very dangerous team. Just be glad we’re in the AFC, cuz NFC is stacked this year.

Actually...Buffalo would be visiting us. Houston would play in Balt. It really isn't that hard to figure this shit out.

I have to admit that I didn't foresee 5-3 at this point. The uncomfortable truth might be that Mahomes is better than I thought, long-term. He appears to have single-handedly inflated the Chiefs record to what it is now.

Are you looking at the same standings as the rest of us?

A) Chiefs would play Buffalo, not Houston.
B) Houston is currently the six seed, so no one is going to Houston.
C) Chiefs are winning the division. They would not be going anywhere on the road in the first round.
D) If the Chiefs do end up playing Houston again, they will beat them. Way too many injuries last time to assume that we will get the same result.

I had them at 8-0 or 7-1 at this point if they stayed healthy. I'll take 5-3 with the sheer number of absent starters they've had to deal with. They were way more competitive than they had any business being last night, with Matt Moore on the field.

And I still think that, aside from Mahomes, obviously, Fisher has been the most problematic injury to this point. I think the drop-off from him to Erving is more significant than we've suffered anywhere else.

All the Chiefs need to do is get healthy and win enough games just to get into the playoffs. Because this roster at even 95% can not only beat any team they'll face in the playoffs, but potentially blow them out. There's a real good chance we're going to be that team nobody wants to play in January.

I’ve called the Chiefs regular season record correctly 3 of the past four years.
I have them at 10-6 this season and winning the West. I could see them end up at 11-5 if Mahomes is back by the Titans game.
