Unfortunately a simple ulnar decompression can take 6mos. to a year recovery time. But that might not even address it completely even if it is successful. More than likely he will need submuscular ulnar transposition. His ulnar nerve will be taken out of it's current position in the elbow and placed in the armpit of the elbow to give it a chance to heal. Which is again up to a year recovery. From that point on he will need to wear protective gear to protect the ulnar nerve which would be exposed more and more prone to injury. GL Frank
