2013 Chevy Cruze 1.4 Eco.

Check engine light on for intake manifold...the arm, or linkage, keeps coming loose at the bottom even after I pop it back in.

Can I use electrical tape to secure it or do I need to replace the whole thing? I'm struggling to find just the arm to replace. If I did, how hard would that be to do?

Weld, Gorilla Glue, or duct tape these things fix all of life’s problems.

It’s all ball bearings.

Id say try it and see if it works. Electrical tape comes in very handy...and maybe it ends up being a slight hassle where you swap out the tape every couple of weeks....either way if it works, you save a ton of money on repairs. worth a shot.

I was thinking about an adhesive like that...but does that then affect the ability of the intake manifold to work? Doesn't it need to rotate around in there?

Gotta' watch that Fetzer valve too.

I think I had intake manifold arm once. Took some penicillin and it cleared right up.

Which specific sensor are you talking about. It sounds like you might be referring to the MAP position sensor, but want to verify. There are temp sensors and such on the manifold as well.

Visuals help a lot, if you can snap a quick pic.

EDIT: If Sauto's here, and you are getting a pic, you're probably on your way.

I tried to get a pic but it's so far down there that it was hard to get a good look.

I popped it back in on Thursday and right now the Check Engine light is off and the part is still connected. My mechanic gave me some silicone tape to wrap it, but it feels pretty firm for now. Hopefully it holds through my daughter's driving test.

But yeah, Sauto...that link you posted is EXACTLY what's going on with mine. Thank you.

Gotta' watch that Fetzer valve too.

I'll also need some 3 in 1 oil and some gauze pads.
