The big 10 was total garbage the year osu won the national championship. Clemsons conference is garbage. I agree there was no great 4th conference. But the point of playoffs is to settle scores we can't settle in the regular season. We know who the best team was in the SEC. There's no dispute. The question is if any other conference winner was better.

I mean, Philly or Dallas don't belong in the nfl playoffs either by the eye test. But there's good reason why nfl has divisions.
