I'm not sure if this is threadworthy, because it's the Redskins and it's Ron Rivera, but I'll put it up anyway.

https://www.redskins.com/news/redskins-name-ron-rivera-head-coach

Redskins management seems to be confident that he can lead them to a slightly above .500 record like he's done in the past.

wtf ron, you could do better.

They got rid of their trash GM and brought on Rivera as HC, who hired Del Rio as his DC. They should be able to turn that franchise around, especially in that shitty division. I saw something last week that no team has won back-to-back division titles in the NFC East since 2002 or some shit lol

Then again, Snyder is still the owner.

Wouldn’t be prudent if he didn’t bring the Cam with him.

Ron Rivera’s introductory press conference was awkward, highlighted by Daniel Snyder’s appearance as a sweaty mess.

Imagine if Snyder traded for Cam ROFL ROFL ROFL

They hired Del Rio also...

In reality they aren't that far away from being competitive in that terrible division.

Isn’t Cam up for free agency?

No but he could get cut since Carolina is at a cross roads.

I'll never understand giving total control to someone who was just fired. Doesn't make sense in any other business.

At this point at least Rivera has a history of being competitive that's better than the Redskins now.

He has a decent shot of turning it around as long as Snyder doesn't mettle.

If they get good QB play they will be competitive.

Not sure what I think of Haskins

Dan Snyder will find a way to completely fuck this up within two years. It’ll actually be kind of entertaining. I just don’t know if I have enough popcorn to watch this whole train wreck.

So, 9 seasons as a HC in Carolina... over .500 only 3 times. It was boom or bust really.

6, 7, 12, 7, 15, 6, 11, 7, 5 ... nothing much really. They finished 1st in their division 3 times from 2013-2015. In 2014, they were first with 7 wins. What a terrible division that year.

Why the hell would they go for Cam Newton?

They = Snyder and his affinity for fools gold.

They will rally around Alex Smith and they will play good football.

They have the most mediocre stable of QBs in the entire NFL.

He'll provide some up years, and some down ones. That's still better than anything the skins have done lately.

This is a great pick up for Washington. They needed an established, renowned coach to sit Snyder in his timeout corner during the draft and free agency.

Literally just read a thing earlier today that if Alex Smith can actually play expect him to be a Chicago Bear.

I think I'll be ready to play before Alex Smith is ready to play.

Not to derail this but I don’t see how the heck Tua is going to take NFL hits with a reconstructed pelvis. Let alone Alex at his age.

Snyder looked rough in that press conference.

Sweating like a pig, bags under his eyes as if he hasn’t slept in a month.

Looks like he’s going through a tough withdrawl without his late night drinking buddy, Bruce Allen.

Yeah this was done last Sunday. I like the HC not sure about his surroundings though. Oh and he pick Jack Del Rio to be his DC.

:clap::clap::clap::clap:

Bet you didn't know that Jerry Jones had another kid named Dan on the side.:D

Ron may have been told he has total control but in the end to your point. IMHO Ron is peter principled out as DC. He is not a HC.
