Post up in here if you will be at the Super Bowl on 2/2 in Miami, FL.

I had airline booked and sideline seats in the 300s wrapped up on Monday following the Texans game. Just couldn’t talk about it until it was reality. I’ve come to learn there is no superstition or luck, there is only Mahomes. Eat, wear, do whatever you want because Mahomes is the greatest QB to ever lace ‘end up.

Anyways, as the thread suggests, if you’re going to the game, give a shout. Would be cool to hear the different stuff everyone has planned, where peeps are traveling from, etc. I get on Friday afternoon and fly back to JFK early Monday morning.

I've read ticket prices go up right after the conference championship games and then usually drift down toward the actual event. I also think it's going to be better for lower ticket prices if the 49ers make it as they don't have the same sort of global presence as the Packers.

Agree with that. I knew they’d spike once the teams were finalized so I hedged and grabbed mine early. As the week went on the crept upon another $1k so glad I kept the faith and dove in.

I turn 40 on March 4th, have a cousin/free place to stay in Miami, and airfare was free on miles. The stars were just aligned.

I think you’ll start to see prices fall back to earth on the day of, but not sure how early they’ll crash. Usually I’d say on Thursday but not sure. Definitely agree the Packers would have made second market even more difficult.

I’m for sure interested in the KC tailgate so please keep details up on that. @Twisted when/where are you flying out of?

Ok, the wife and I are checking hotel and flight info from Indy to Miami. Can’t afford to go to the game, but don’t know if we could pass up the super bowl experience from the outside. I’ve never been to Miami. Where do I want to be looking for a hotel? I found one that didn’t appear too far from the stadium. Where would all of the super bowl events be held?
Where is this tailgate BBQ going down??

Good thing about Indy is everything is all within a couple of blocks and you can walk every where

I'm on a business trip and watched the game in my hotel room. My wife called me immediately to give me budget authorization to go if I want to. That was really awesome of her.

But I just can't justify those prices. I'm planning a trip to Antarctica in a couple of years and that would be half the cost to get there. I'll watch the game on TV and use the money to book passage aboard a bouncing ship across the Straits of Magellan.

Everybody wants to see Mahomes

The Super Bowl matchup is set with the Kansas City Chiefs facing off against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, and this highly anticipated game has sent ticket prices soaring.

On the online ticket platform SeatGeek, the average resale price (https://seatgeek.com/super-bowl-ticket-tracker) is currently $6,232. Although, the average price for tickets sold in the past 24 hours was even higher at $6,785.

Taking place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Sunday, February 2, the demand for this year's Super Bowl is at an all-time high with it trending to be the most expensive Super Bowl ever.

The cheapest ticket currently listed on SeatGeek is $5,727, while the most expensive is a whopping $70,153. And if you're looking to go with a big group, an 18-person suite will set you back about $439,000, according to TicketIQ (https://www.ticketiq.com/nfl/super-bowl-tickets/super-bowl-liv--02-02-2020/1274502).

Compared to previous Super Bowls, the average resale ticket price is nearly $1,000 more than the second most expensive game, Super Bowl LII. During that game, between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, the average resale price reached $5,373. Tickets for Super Bowl LIII between the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots was third most expensive at $4,657.

Yeah, I ordered through them and the service fee was almost $900 per ticket. It was still the cheapest total cost of any legit sources I found.

Every site has fees. I wouldn't believe any of the quoted ticket prices until you drill down to see the all-in cost. It's how these places make their money, taking the same percentage no matter the ticket price.

It looks like it is majority Chiefs fans who are buying tickets, based on the geographic locations:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2020/01/20/super-bowl-liv-tickets-chiefs-49-ers-selling-record-prices/4522244002/

A plethora of the impulsive ticket buyers appeared to be Chiefs fans, too. Kansas City generated the highest percentage of geographical ticket orderings according to SeatGeek's data at 12.3%, while large metropolitan areas like New York (12.2%) and Chicago (8.1%) trailed.

So get this: My MIL just called and told me that I need to be there as it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Some of you know that I'm currently in entrepreneurial mode right now starting a new company and am building the business, so extra funds for this game isn't really an option right now unless I want to go into debt for it. I've made her quite a bit in the market the last 2 years and she's going to fund the trip for my wife and I to go, so will be setting that up tonight. I'm a bit shook right now, but also very excited!!!!!

810 yesterday, I was streaming it. They had someone from the city on and asked if there were parade plans.

He answered that it'd be in the middle of the week and similar to what they did last time. That they weren't releasing details, but you could have a good idea if you read between the line. The show host made a humpday joke and the guy from the city all but confirmed it.

I'm not rich, and I haven't gotten tickets yet but if I go, and I'm planning to, it will be because I've waited 50 years for it and I think it is worth it. Some people buy motorcycles, or jet skis, or boats for more money than that, it is just a matter of what you want to spend on.

I understand that... but it's a ton of money to come up with in a short amount of time. Are most people just saying f it and throwing it on the credit card? I have my honeymoon coming up in a few months, and we will spend two weeks in Europe for less than the price of 1 ticket.

We were half joking about canceling the trip to Europe and going to the Super Bowl, until we saw ticket prices. Oh well, got to see the AFC championship game live. I'll never forget that.

When you're buying from tickpick, or any place I suppose, you're picking up the tickets on site in Miami, correct?

I'd trust Stubhub, but a lot of these places are selling tickets they don't actually yet have possession of...they're selling tickets they PLAN ON buying from someone else. Especially if you're not buying an exact seat location but seats in a "zone" you can be pretty sure the reseller doesn't yet have the tickets.

They may not necessarily be out to scam you, but it is not unheard of for people to arrive at the SB to get their tickets from a reseller and they simply don't have them because they ended up not being able to obtain them. You'll probably get your money back, but you won't have tickets.

Just sayin be careful out there...

That is a good point and absolutely true. The agent I'm buying mine from won't sell them until he has them in his possession, but there are many who will go ahead and sell them before they have them.

I'm not trying to be judgmental, or a cheap ass or anything, but how does the regular Joe afford to go to this game? I could never afford to pay 6k a ticket to go to the game. Props to those who are, I'm very jealous, but the average NFL fan is priced out.

Maybe I'm just a cheapskate, and it's not my business how others spend their money. But if you're 25 years old and you put that $6,000 in a retirement account at 8 percent annual interest, it'll be $130,000 by the time you're 65. Adjusting for inflation, that'll be about 8 to 10 months of retirement income. So for the average young person, the tradeoff is to work 8 to 10 months longer to go to the game.

And no, I'm not just an old fogey killjoy now. Even at 25 I was an old fogey killjoy.

Tickpick is as known nationally and is legit as stub hub, ticketmaster, etc. They just have less fees. Random ticket brokers are where you could have these very real issues like the SB in Arizona a few years ago. You can also buy the exact row and seat on tickpick or a section buy... they do both.

How long ago did Super bowl tickets go on sale, and are they any cheaper if you buy before knowing who is playing?

They can be cheaper before. I jumped the gun last year, and bought and broke even with a Rams friend buying mine. Tickets actually went down a little last year after as the Pats and Rams weren't near the draw as the Chiefs and Saints would have been. NO was driving distance to Atlanta, and KC as well, plus the 50 year layoff. This year I found great ticks on Ebay from a long time ebay seller who had gotten the ticks personally. I got a really good deal for great seats and pulled the trigger. They arrived today overnight. I paid about $5k less than they are selling for on any site today for the pair. This is due to KC and SF playing, if it were the Tits and Pack, I think they would be less. It's also a smaller venue. They say 5-7 days out is when the prices trough, and then head back up. This is what I've gathered after 2 years of tracking prices. Good luck!

We are planning a big shindig on Saturday and tailgate on Sunday, Really stepping it up this time. Same team that did Jacksonville. The Miami chapter is running point and I'm involved in the planning just not going down myself. Lots of city council, police, city reqs to maneuver through. Hopefully, we will be ready to announce tonight.

I'm super interested in the shindig on Saturday. We've punted the Hotel Package as we can get around ourselves for significantly less than with the package.

We're staying in South Beach from Friday thru Monday. You can park your car and walk most places. Want to attend some broadcast shows. FS1 will be there on the park next to the beach.

You really don't want to stay near the stadium. Not the best n'hood.

We plan on going to one of the sports bars, probably one of the Irish pubs. I called yesterday and neither takes reservations. First come, first served.

Community rallies behind life-long special needs Chiefs fan to get him to Super Bowl

VERSAILLES —

Many people in Versailles consider Dustin Pryor to be the biggest Chiefs fan they know.

Pryor has Down syndrome, but he's still known around his community for being a hard worker and a dedicated Chiefs fan. And now the Versailles community is dedicated to getting Dustin to the Super Bowl to see his favorite team take on the San Francisco 49ers.

Heidi Rayl, a resident of Versailles, knew of Dustin's love for the Chiefs and started a GoFundMe page to send him and a loved one to Miami for the Feb. 2 game.

"Heidi saw it and posted it and got the ball rolling before we even knew what was going on," Chuck Pryor said.

As of Wednesday night, it had raised almost $8,000 out of their $15,000 goal.

The father and son Chuck and Dustin Pryor duo were at the AFC Championship game in Kansas City Sunday when the Chiefs won against the Tennessee Titans -- the final game that would qualify them for the Super Bowl matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

You would think a Pryor family photo foreshadowed the 2020 Superbowl match-up. In the old photo, Dustin throws a football while one of his brothers is in a San Francisco 49ers sweater and his father in a Kansas City Chiefs sweater.

Foreshadowing maybe? Dustin shared this picture of himself and his brothers and father playing football. His father had on a Kansas City Chiefs sweater and his brother had on a San Francisco 49ers sweater. The two teams are set to play in the Super Bowl Feb. 2.

Even though the team was losing during the beginning of the AFC Championship game, Dustin said he had faith.

"I know he will pull out to the end," Dustin said. "I know he will do it, no matter what. Mahomes knows how to work every downs. He always talks to the players and I hope he want to be my friend some time."

But for Dustin, his father Chuck Pryor said it's been a lifelong love for football and for the Chiefs that makes him so special, and it's something, he said, is why he believes the community is rallying behind him.

"When the Chiefs play, they can be down by 20 points with two minutes left, and he still thinks they're going to win," Chuck said. "He never gives up on them."

But besides his love for football, Chuck said his son Dustin has a love for people and for his community as a whole.

"He's always wanting to give somebody something and help somebody," Chuck said. "It's kind of a humbling thing to have that many people care about your son."

Pryor said his son has worked at the local Walmart for more than 20 years and, in his time there, has taken over 25 of his coworkers to their first Chiefs game.

"We grew up being Chiefs fans," Chuck said. "I was ten years old when I went to the Superbowl the last time. It was crazy then and it's gonna be crazy now."

For the Chiefs, Dustin had a couple of things he wanted them to know.

"You are number one in my life," Dustin said. "You guys need to win all the way to get the Super Bowl forever. If you win the Super Bowl, I go nuts."

But, Dustin made it clear that wherever he will be watching the Super Bowl, the entire team will have his support.

I'll be there with my older brother, in Section 320 (about the 20-yard line, on the San Francisco sideline), row 8. Should have pretty good views from there. Probably be the only Super Bowl I ever see in person, but I figured if Mahomes is going to win about ten of them for my beloved Chiefs, I might as well see the first. :)

No, I land near midnight on Saturday, like 11:20 pm. It will be a whirlwind trip. I'm flying from Sacramento via Denver (where I chronically get stuck on flights). If all goes well, my brother will have landed at the airport (flying in from KC via Dallas) about an hour before me. We'll probably just go straight to the hotel and sleep and then spend most of Sunday at the event and then grab a little bit of sleep for our early flights home Monday morning. Such a short trip, I'm not even going to bother with a rental car, just use the hotel airport shuttle and Lyft, probably.

If this game goes like Game 7 of the 1985 World Series--which my older brother and I worked as food vendors in the stands, after also working the Chiefs game earlier that day--or like Game 5 in 2015 World Series, I'll be way too excited to get much sleep...I will just want to read and watch all the stories about how great the team from KC is! :)

My wife and I have had a long standing agreement that when the Chiefs make the SB I can go. Well, now that the actual time has come she's not so favourable it seems but I know if I go she will get over it.

The problem is I can't get anybody to go with me. I would feel like a complete loser going to the SB by myself. Just wondering how many CP'ers would go solo? Wonder if there are any other fans out there in the same situation as me?

LOL. It's like $5,000 a ticket. Plus hotel, air line tickets, eating out, rental car. Plus you figure at least 2 tickets for most people. So I'd say $12,000 - $15.000 minimum. That's too much for me. I will watch on TV and have food and drinks at home. Good luck and best wishes to all that go.

Thought about Tri-rail, will get me within 7 miles and I can uber from there, but their last train goes out before the game will be over and CERTAINLY before we intend to leave the stadium and they aren't extending the hours. (DUH) So you can get there but then you're on your own.

I'm wondering if there are places near the stadium (I'll walk 1-2 miles) where you can park the car without it getting towed. It's a weird stadium set-up from what I can tell.

It's kind of like Arrowhead, out away from the city/mass transit.

I'm checking out the Calder Casino...it's just over a mile's walk from the stadium...which if we lose I'll probably need the walk and if we win, I might just run all the way back to California. Figured we could go in, drop a few bucks in some machines, and then walk over.

I wouldn't be surprised if a person with that much in cash in hand could end up buying a ticket from someone who ended up with an extra ticket due to flight mishaps or something like that. Say one person has 4 tickets, but only 3 in his party made it to game and now the group is stuck with an expensive piece of paper whose value is rapidly perishing. They might be happy to swap that fourth ticket for hard cash.

I'm sorry things didn't work out. I wouldn't be going if I hadn't been promising my son I'd take him since he was four years old. He's almost 23 now. He lives near us and I work with him everyday. In a couple months he's moving away and I'm going to have a huge void in my life. Point is, that's the only reason I'm spending this kinda money to go to the big game. Otherwise, I'd enjoy it more sitting at home surrounded by friends and family. So you go enjoy it with friends and family. Try not to wish you were there. Just focus on enjoying the moment with those you love. We may never get to have another chance to see this. Hopefully, but there are no guarantees. So enjoy the moment!

Ummmm, I’m not sure how, but I think I just booked a $60 parking spot less than 2 miles away from the stadium.

This came directly from the nfl One pass app so I’m thinking it’s legit.

Layover in Houston, boarding the plane to Miami soon. I’ve seen a bunch of Chiefs jerseys and hats, but only one 49ers. Our friend that is already there said that he sees 10 times more Chiefs fans than 49ers. We are taking over Miami!

At the United gate in Houston they have two women giving out SB gifts for answering SB trivia. Lots of people going to the game on this flight.

This is as close as I can get to getting inside the stadium.

It's beautiful down here.

Keeping it fresh. That was Friday. Chiefs fans outnumber SF fags 2-1 here.

Finally got my tickets in hand tonight... Section 119, Row 4.

Behind the 49ers sideline so I’ll bring my Houston Astros sign stealing trash can/Faketriots espionage video equipment if needed.

Got mine earlier today -- then went over to the Super Bowl Experience. Great time and while I'm staying far from the beach area my hotel is packed with Chiefs fans.

Do we have anything where CP people are going to meet? I know there's not a tailgate, but I'm pretty sure everyone is getting to the stadium ridiculously early and maybe there's a time where we can all meet up in the stadium somewhere at like 5pm. Would be a shame to miss all of you at such a glorious experience. Thoughts?

I’d like to know too. Someone should organize this.

All right - as we have 2 CP members who are in 306, why not meet outside of that section in the concourse at 5pm (and if it’s split like at Arrowhead, meet at 305/306 rather than 306/307). I’ll have a blue Mahomes jacket, a red Frank Clark shirt, and a red Chiefs hat.

Post in here if you’re game to meet then.
