Dude's been playing like a motherfucker possessed these last few weeks.

I know he's not the best player on the team, but that man has been kicking ass and taking names.

Respect for Dirty!

And yes, Dan has turned into a pretty decent player. Glad we didn't get rid of him.

Role players are the best to cheer for. As a Penguins fan whos seen a few championships I can totally relate with loving the great role players that may never get national attention, but can be recognized by the fan base as an essential part of the team. Championship teams need that player, and he does the job. Dirty Dan is awesome.

Didn’t Tannehill truck him in the regular season? It was someone on one of the final drives. Dan wasn’t letting that happen again.

I was watching Chiefs Rewind, and they were interviewing Dirty Dan. I am sure that most of us have watched more than one movie that revolved around a Seal Team, or a Spec Ops team, Delta Force team, etc.

Dirty Dan looks like Team Member #4 in all those movies. He is the outdoorsman from the Midwest or Pacific Northwest, who has a few funny lines, and dies on the first mission. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201026/cfa45a24e4970739a9e8856b9c8db6ac.jpg

The INTs have been nice and most definitely welcomed, he is still a massive liability on our defense 70% of the time.

I will love him forever for blowing up that fake punt by the genious BOB last year, though.

All of this is correct. However, if the Chiefs like him in the 3 safety look, that’s fine.

Maybe he'll be like Anthony sherman and start doing one year deals that only count as minimum salaries. With the new cba we get some extra money to pay guys like him. I've already forgotten the deal with it though.

He’s old. 30 this year. I didn’t figure he’d play out this year. But they must like him enough to pay.

To be fair to him though, his speed hasn’t seemed to diminish much and he still wants to hit.

Not sure what the market will yield but I wouldn’t mind him back here on shorter cheaper deals.

Yet every fucking year, people like Direckshun cut him in their mock drafts.

Sorensen is a great fit for Spagnuolo's defense. He has great football instincts, which he's shown on Special Teams and defense over the years, whether it was in the secondary or dropping down as a linebacker on 3rd downs. He's been blowing up guys in the ground game as well.

If the guy had run a 4.5 40 instead of a 4.7, Sorensen would be looked upon in the same light as guys like Eric Weddle.

It's not, he's a finished product. A perfect 3rd safety and solid player. Upside is related to 40 speed. If he's average athletically, then he's probably average. Unless he has off the charts instincts or leadership or some other item. If you are just an average athlete, that's likely your upside.

Do you consider Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith athletes?

Shaid
10-29-2020, 12:14 PM
Do you consider Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith athletes?

Jerry, no. I don't remember him outrunning guys, he did get great separation but that was my earlier days watching football and I just loved watching him play so I'm not sure if that was quickness, just running great routes, or just that the offense was different and defenses weren't set up to stop it the same way.

I'm not sure on Emmitt. I think with him it was more spins and moves, similar to Clyde. Clyde is a guy I'd say is sort of a workout warrior. It doesn't translate to speed but he has great lateral agility. Is that related to working out? Not sure. I do think it helps his strength which makes him not go down so easy which is important because he's so small. Small and slow doesn't usually spell first round talent, but his lateral agility and balance are great. Emmitt had moves and balance from what I remember, I don't remember his speed.
