And it gets better. They named Jack Easterby Executive VP of Football Operations.

For those of you who don't know... Jack Easterby is literally a Christian pastor who was essentially a priest for the Pats , his title was Character Development Coach... Now exec vice president of football lmfao

Bill O'Brien is somehow a flaming idiot that has convinced the ownership that he's Belichick.

Why Not?

I can't imagine why. It's a pretty decent roster. I think they'll dominate the AFC South next year. Of course they'll lose in the playoffs, mostly because of Bill O'Brien, but it's hard to deny that there's a lot of talent on that team.

They were incredible benefactors of the Jaguars being the Jaguars and Andrew Luck's sudden retirement.

With Chris Ballard leading the Colts and the Titans likely to try to "make a run" with their current roster composition, it'll be interesting to see how the Texans fare.

I dont. And if you look closely at that team, there are lots of holes. Also not so many top draft picks the next two years to fix them. Also, for the past 3 seasons, the Texans have watched all the other teams in their division get farther than them in the playoffs. They were the largest benefactor of Andrew Luck retiring. They have not made any advancement under BOB. They're in the same place they were after his first season, only now they / he cant use the lack of a franchise QB as an excuse.

The last 2 years we've won the division, yet not been the actual best team in the division.

My gut tells me they may be destined for 9-7/10-6 divisional round exit purgatory for a while. Deshaun is too good and they're going to build around him to always keep them in the hunt... but they may always be just out of reach.

We won't have to worry about Watson challenging Mahomes' reign in the AFC as long as O'Brien is HC and GM.

Don't get me wrong. I think Mahomes is a better QB. He has better talent and a better feel for the game and I am really glad we picked him over Watson.

But of all the young QBs in the league, Watson is the best of the rest. And if Houston had Veach or Schneider as a GM and a good coach like Reid or Bellichick, Watson would present an issue for the rest of the AFC. As it is, I think that Houston has set Watson up to be like Aaron Rogers: a really good QB whose front office does not get the best talent around him and whose coach does not design an offense that is optimal for him.

Well Watson does have 2 of the best WR's in the league. They screwed up in paying a 1st for a gas masking LT tho.

And of course we all know they're just keeping JJ Watt around for the publicity. He hasn't been the same player for years now.

Wasting draft capital with bad picks/trades for a couple years might create a hole whoever they hire won’t get themselves out of.

And at the end of the day it all starts at the top. Ownership is clealry an even bigger issue if this is their answer to 2019.
