He missed two games but is in the SB. I say yes. He's indestructible like Bruce Willis in Die Hard.

Just curious - how many times have you said that this week?

I know that's a lie because you've already said it once in this thread. The Chiefs could lose the Super Bowl and the curse would still be a joke after what Mahomes did this year. Why? BECAUSE HE'S ALREADY IN THE FUCKING SUPERBOWL

If I'm being too harsh, I apologize. Just a little amped up right now. A lifetime of waiting and hoping. Not hearing anything about curses or jinxes or any other fatalistic traditional Chiefs fan fantasies. This is our time!

Brady made it to the super bowl the year after being on the cover

Which means the cover defeated him the year he was on it. Loser.

He did miss out on two games due to injury; I wouldn’t say he defeated the curse, but he certainly minimized its effect by a large margin.

The truth is, the curse worked.

This will end up being the least productive season of his whole career.

Even with a curse, he’s still going to win the Super Bowl, though.

If you shoot Superman and he isn't fazed, it's not the gun's fault.

The Madden curse will be back as soon as they put a player on the cover that isn't Patrick Mahomes.

The curse has been beaten before...

Eddie George ran for nearly 2k yards after he was on the 2001 cover.

Ray Lewis was an all pro after the 2005 cover.

Larry Fitzgerald had a career year in 2009 after sharing the cover with Troy Polemalu.

Drew Brees threw for 4500/30 after the 2011 cover.

Megatron had 120 catches for nearly 2k yards after the 2013 cover.

As for winning the title, well, that's never an individual thing. Pat would be the first one to tell you that.

What's the curse?

The Madden curse was done a long time ago. I'll admit it was a pretty crazy string of coincidences for a few years there. Then people had to start stretching what the curse "does" to keep it alive. Now someone who was on the cover could be audited by the IRS 15 years after nothing notably bad happening to them and someone on twitter will say "the curse always gets em!"

Antonio Brown continued to sap the curse's juice from last year so there wasn't much left for Mahomes. It tried to take his ankle and knee but he's too powerful.

Id wait until after the SB before answering....

I'm hoping they put Lamar on the cover next year...the curse seems to overcome those that can't handle the pressure. Mahomes laughs at pressure.

If the curse is just to be injured the following season, I'd say this is a textbook example.
But as with all things Mahomesian-negative, it didn't work like it was supposed to.

Welll he was the first QB ever to get injured on a QB sneak.

The curse took its best shots (ankle, knee on QB sneak, wrist, Tyreek shananigans, Jones calf, etc., etc., etc.) and Mahomes brushed it off and kicked it in the balls. Now Madden says we win the Super Bowl...
