It's one thing to improve from the start of the season to the end. But you have a new DC, a new scheme, a ton of new starters and some key injuries.
In the end it was OUR defense that stepped up. It was OUR defense that shut down good team after good team after good team.
Does it help when you have a QB like Mahomes and our offense? Well, yeah! But, to come back from 24 down, 10 down twice and 10 down again you have to have a defense that puts the breaks on at some point.
We went from can't stop shit to stopping some of the best running games and offenses in the league.
Stopped a great scrambling playmaker in Watson
Stopped the unstoppable King Henry
Stopped the unstoppable SF running game
More importantly our defense was clutch. When we needed the key stops we got them.
Not sure what HB and Spags got into it about on the sidelines but this defense was a huge, HUGE part of our SB win.
Props to Spags to pulling that off not only with his first year on the defense but also after losing players like Ogbah, Okafor and Thornhill.
