Hate to see him go in a way. He played pretty good at times especially at Guard and having that swingman sure helps. No doubt Veach will upgrade though.

CP liked to shit on Erving. He was actually a decent player on the IOL, but got exposed when he had to move out to Tackle. I appreciated how he stood up for teammates, played with some nasty, and appeared to love being a Chief. The money just does not make sense at this point.

Thanks Cam, and good luck.

Not a surprise but he was good depth and the best energy guy that was always on the sideline. Hope that he gets paid somewhere else, or that if he doesnt, he would come back cheaper.

Very good take. I too wouldn't mind seeing him get a decent paycheck somewhere else and, if not, come back and try to make the Chief's roster at a reduced rate.

I'd take him back at a team friendly deal if he was willing with the caveat that he will never play tackle again. He's a serviceable backup center/guard option, just in no way an offensive tackle.

Agreed and he actually played well at center as well. It was just at tackle well you know what happened. This draft is so deep with o-line talent I bet we get someone to replace him.

Sorry but I disagree and I wanted to see Cam pan out and was happy when they extended him. If he was as good as you claim he was at IOL then he should have played a lot this year. He didn’t. Glad we are moving on.

My lasting memory of Cam Erving in KC will always be during the 2018 Rams game when he gave up the strip sack to Aaron Donald then fails to recover the fumble by instead trying to clumsily scoop the ball up.

Good riddance.

Cam had a lot of things going for him, so you can see why Kansas City traded for him.

Outstanding player at Florida State with 42 consecutive game starts. Most at left tackle, but his first year was at defensive tackle, and he finished his college career as a center.

His combine numbers - 6-5, 313 pounds, 34 1/8” arms, 10 3/8” hands 5.15, 40 time, 30 reps on bench press.

First round draft pick by Cleveland. He played 29 games with 17 starts for Browns.

He played 40 games for us with 25 starts.

I know he struggled with getting beat and with penalties, but he contributed to us getting to the AFC Championship game in 2018 and filled in for Eric Fisher for 8 games this last Super Bowl winning season.

Good luck to him and wish him the best.

He was adequate at OG, I guess you could say that.

At tackle, out in space? Thats how he ended up with the Chiefs in the first place. He's AWFUL at tackle.

Maybe that's their long-term plan with Dak. Just get him killed.

There is no doubt that his play absolutely sucked, but I don’t understand the hate for him. The guy seemed like a great teammate who was always there to get in someone’s face to protect Mahomes. Blame Veach (I feel blasphemous!) if anything for lacking decent OL depth and being forced to work him in at LT.
