Whose dick did the Chiefs have to suck to get this?

Like... seriously. Fuck MLB. When is the last fucking time the Chiefs had a home game Week 1?

We had to win the Super Bowl for them to throw us this fucking bone?

Christ, I guess we'll just have to win the Super Bowl more often.

We play them in Baltimore this year.

Not happening.

Patriots if Brady stays. Texans if he doesn't.

They should have just moved the Royals game to like 11 am. That was baller as shit when they did that in 2010.

Yeah, it has been a while since we opened at home. Rumor has it the price of a home game in week #1 was we have to play the next 15 on the road.

Thou it going to be great seeing all the haters crying while we show our fluff piece video of us winning the super bowl and having tech 9 singing red kingdom in arrowhead. Raising our superbowl banner! The banging of the drum! Damn I'm so fucking excited!

If Brady reups with New England I see it being NE.

If not, I think the NFL will prime a Mahomes-Watson face off to start the new year.

That's appalling. MLB can't cooperate with the NFL to give one of the NFL's demonstrably best teams in that span a fucking home game Week 1? For three consecutive seasons?

Stupid. Even going into this season MLB just went "HERP DERP ROYALS PLAY THIS DAY AT HOME EVERYTHING'S GOOD HERE". They fucking TRIED to take that spot and make the NFL schedule the Chiefs on the road for a 4TH consecutive year.

Fuck them.

Doesn’t matter. Whoever it is we will kick the living shitbout if them. We will embrass them so bad in national TV, their grandkids will still have low self esteem issues.

would be cool to avoid any other thursday night games

They'll push us into more of them anyway. TNF sucks dick and Mahomes can make any game interesting.

Brady and the Raiders.
I'm guessing it will be a divisional game. Raiders or Chargers.

I’m with most that it will be the Pats or Texans....playoff teams

Otherwise Donks or Raiders (for rivalry purposes)...but I expect a Raiders Monday night home opener to christen the new stadium/era...so the Broncos are my dark horse

It'll be New England.

If they have Brady, it'll be the new dynasty vs the old.

If they don't, it'll be the SB champion Chiefs vs the new look New England Patriots.

Chiefs 35-13.

There's no guarantee Arrowhead gets the Thursday Night opener, tho...

The league broke precedent by making Bears vs Packers the kickoff game because of the anniversary and let's not forget about Baltimore opening as defending champs in the Denver thanks to the Orioles / MLB refusing to move games (which obviously isn't an issue for the Chiefs now, but..)

If I were a Ravens fan, I’d be eternally pissed at the shitty Orioles for this dici move.

Glad the Royals played ball here.

Yeah, the camaraderie between the teams/ownership/and players is something that has always made me legitimately happy. I don’t always get that vibe from teams who share a city.

I love the idea of opening up at home on Thursday night. Gives us a little more time to prepare for our week two opponent.

I didn't even consider this. Basically Andy gets two weeks in a row with extra prep time. We're starting the season 2-0. Who do we play to open the season?

Cool, so the silver lining for me is that I wrote a good title. I can live with that.

I feel like they wouldn't have broke the new tradition of the Superbowl team playing opening night if it wasn't the Patriots winning the super bowl yet again. That was an easy move for the centennial season considering the pats have already had the honor of opening the season at home.

Also, the second time the Giants won it against the Patriots they opened the season at the new cowboys stadium.
