I thought every Super Bowl champ opened the next season at home on Thursday. I can see us hosting the Texans, Ravens, or for some stupid reason the Raiders.

I bet we get the game as a home game since the Royals have moved one game to a double header to free up the parking lot at Arrowhead

Dont care who we play, we will whip that ass

Of course it will be a home game. That’s not even a question.

I believe it was a Rich Eisen who assumed it as a matter of fact last week

Out of the available options here's my list of who I want the Chiefs to play due to entertainment value with the number one option being listed at the top in the team I would least like to play opening day being at the bottom.

Texans
Raiders
Patriots
Broncos
Jets
Chargers
Panthers
Falcons

Pats, Inc. would lobby heavily against that.

No Ravens? Because that’s who I think it will be.

I hope for Pats but Ravens are more likely.

I'm hoping for a home game and those are our options. Not a lot of good opponents there I think we'll run the table at home this year.

Not always. Last year's opening night was Bears-Packers, IIRC.

The only way I could see it being an away game is if it's LA or Vegas to open the season in one of their new stadiums. That's what happened to the Giants after the 2011 super bowl win, they had to go open the season in the new Jerry World.

That was an exception for the 100th season.

Chiefs will host the Thursday night game to open the season. League will give that to Clark.

LA opens its stadium on SNF

Vegas opens its stadium on MNF

Exactly. Raiders are practically guaranteed that late MNF slot

And unless the NFL wants to have a special celebration for its 101st season (they won’t) KC will be hosting some loser team on Thursday Night in Week 1

It could be a divisional game, but I doubt it.

Thinking MOAR it could either be the Titans (playoff revenge game) or Jets (AFC history, SB III and SB IV champions).

This would be good. Hoist the banner, then put up 80 on a divisional opponent. For all to see.

Nate Taylor’s recent article said internally the Chiefs think they open against Brady (Pats/Raiders/Chargers) or the Texans.

For ratings it will either be Brady(whoever he is playing for) or Watson IMHO. Texans will definitely be feeling that 24pt PTSD thing.

My guess the Ravens or the Texans, as Bowser said. The hype will be off the charts.

I'd love a tough game out the gate. Get it over with, makes the rest of the schedule a little easier.

The only playoff teams we play at home this year are the Patriots and the Texans.

It's delightful that we get rewarded for our Super Bowl victory by it being our turn to play the shit ass AFC East.

I love how many posters here have no clue who the Chiefs opponents are, let alone who the visiting teams will be this upcoming season.

Like, the internet has arrived people...
