2-3 years out statement if you read into it puts a lot more stuff outside of QB on the table with those high picks.

Also, it's how every team should approach the draft. You really do want the player for more than his rookie year.

Yep.

Veach did a nice job during Free Agency so far, now he needs to have a positive conclusion to the Chris Jones situation, before nailing the draft.

I don't know what you term as a positive outcome, but I still think we move Jones for a draft pick. That can be a positive too. If you watch Veach's press conference, his body language is very nervous when discussing Jones. He appears to be pretty calm for the most part in the entire rest of the 30 minute conference. And on the next to last question, Topie I believe, asks about Mahomes and the 5th year option that has to be dealt with in May. Paraphrasing, but Veach says they could possibly extend the 5th year option to Mahomes, but doesn't think they will have too. Again paraphrasing.

To me, the only way to have enough money to extend Mahomes and sign draft picks is to move Jones. Plus it give us at least one more high draft pick in this draft... which is a positive.

I said a positive outcome- so that means getting more value in both cap flexibility and draft picks, for the loss of production by Jones.
