I don't think it matters. No one would expect Tony to be on the field for 30+ snaps. We're talking about 20 snaps/game. He wouldn't be in on running downs at all. He wouldn't be a traditional TE 2/3. He'd be strictly in for passing downs, and probably for specific situational snaps mostly. So Andy wouldn't look at Tony as a run-blocker at all, or ST, or whatever. Tony would be a 3rd-down conversion/possession/decoy/RZ specialist type of player, that has the hands, feet and intelligence of a HOFer. in the RZs where absolute speed isn't required, he'd have the opportunity to be lethal.

Don't give me that shit.

Mahomes throws the ball to more wide open receivers than any QB in history. He can do that partly because of his arm talent, but at least as importantly, because of his ability to escape the rush and extend the play, effectively creating a second play within the play. Are you trying to tell me that Matt Ryan was doing the same? Because that would be bullshit.

I would take him back as our 3rd tight end in a heartbeat. He might have lost a step speed wise-but still has great hands and would be a factor in the red zone.

I don’t think he ever wanted to play for the Chiefs.

I never once saw that jerk stop and sign autographs for kids and many, many times saw him jog over like he was going to and then changed his angle to jog off the practice field to a bunch of kids let down because he was the star they wanted to see. Year after year. Even when he signed his extension he demanded to be paid like a WR and not a TE.

Every year was the same horseshit from him “this is the best Chiefs team I’ve ever been on”.

After he was gone, he shit on KC every chance he got.

When he got inducted to the hall, he shit on KC.

All the 88 hate is hilarious. Guy balled out the entire time he was Chief, supposedly while hating being a Chief? Yeah, that makes sense. He almost single-handedly made the Chiefs relevant on the national stage while he was here.

And if he wasn't kidding and wanted to be a Chief again, and caught the game-winning TD in our next Super Bowl all these haters would be jumping on the TG88 bandwagon so fast they'd forget that they hate him . . .

Which is the point really. Can he still produce at a high level?

This season will be more of a crucible than any I've seen in the past, because the NFL won't have OTAs, training camp; the whole preseason probably will be shortened or eliminated. Teams with lots of veteran players and incumbent coaching staffs are going to have a huge advantage over teams loaded with young inexperienced talent/rookies.

Players with high football IQs are going to feast in 2020. A player like 88 will learn the playbook cold in three weeks. Find his chemistry with 15 in two or three weeks. Make opposing LBs look like idiots in two weeks.
