Do you currently or would you consider wearing a fanny pack?

I have a really nice leather one. For festivals and pool parties (or wherever I need to keep my shit together). Never wear it around my waist. I choose to sling it over my shoulder like a backpack. A half slung backpack. It's my man bag and nobody gives me shit about it.

There's a place and a need for one and the negative connotations that surround them are bunk science. And when you have a GF that asks you to carry her shit, the fanny pack rules.

Feel like there's this whole 80s dad fashion comeback thing happening with younger dudes and fanny packs are back in.

EDIT: If you look like Clark Griswald you're slaying pussy here

I'm on a mini-vacation right now and a backpack will give me the weirdest tan if I wore one. I'm so pro fanny pack right now.

My wife has been wearing one for years. Total loser I thought.

But recently I was contemplating it's great use. I usually have more things than can comfortable fit in my pocket but don't need something as big as a backpack. I may be purchasing a fanny pack.

I support the usage by men, but I myself would not wear one.

I mean think about it. It just used to be keys and wallet. Now it's keys, wallet, cell phone, mask, pack of smokes, lighter, vape pen, 3 rubbers and a pocket roll. Need room for all of that and a pair of pants just doesn't offer that kind of space.

It's a brave new world. This is beyond tactical pants because A) it's too hot for pants B) what if I get drunk and have to do an impromptu hand stand? C) the symmetrical tan factor

I'm becoming even more pro fanny pack the more I rationalize current requirements to stay functional.

As you are in Durango, do you ski? Mines always with me when I ski (and at my waist and in Durango these days) and it's stocked with protein bars and shot bottles.. I assume you see a lot of them if you are around the slopes.

I'm in NJ right now. But yeah, all the time in Durango. It's hip to be square in Durango.

I just never really considered the fanny pack potentiality for functionality until a beach encounter. Sand, no problem. Carrying capacity, perfect! Tan interference, zero.

For me, on a normal work day, it's just cell phone (which doubles as wallet), keys, hand sanitizer, mask and maybe something random like OSHA rated earbuds or a headlamp for work before dawn or a cereal bar because I missed breakfast. And I have no problem fitting that much into the front and side pockets on my shorts.

Yea, Dave don't wear pants that have more than 4 pockets. 5 if you count that little change pocket on the right front quarter panel, which is vastly overlooked BTW.

Absolutely. Wear one daily on my walk.

As a track coach I use one often. It beats lugging a backpack around all day in the heat. I usually load it up with track spikes, a spike key, tape, Advil, marker, writing pen, gum, safety pins and small towel. I will say it’s usually worn on my back side....not in front or on my hip.

Rotating to your back helps with the dork factor. But shitty for concerts/festivals as it's easy to get into. Coachella is notorious for stolen phones. I've been lucky. Heck, they take them right from your backpack or right out of your pocket.

The only time I ever wear one, is if I'm going for my 3 miler with the dogs at 4:30 am. I have run into some "interesting" people, particularly in a park I cut through at that time in the morning, but I have a Doberman and a German Shepherd. The big reason I have it is, I ran into a mountain lion a couple of years ago on that same route. After that, I stated packing my Glock 20 in the pack. Other than that, I wouldn't be caught dead with one on.

My father wore a fannypack as I was growing up in the 90s. It was horrible and humiliating.

Years later, I found out he did so because he had a gun in there.

So, don't judge a book by its cover, I guess.

I used to be an avid buttpack user (or "fag bag" as it's called). I carry more shit than a woman--keys, candy, tissues, inhaler, hairbrush, earphones, multitool, nail clippers, et cetera--and I got tired of having bulging pockets. But over the past few years I've stopped wearing it. I take it to work and leave it in the car in case I need something from it; otherwise I'm back to stuffing the pockets. But I support a man's right to choose.

Another widely overlooked benefit is that when your date sees you can store and protect her shit she'll probably allow you to take head right there in the car, or behind a nearby dumpster (my dates preference). That's a nice start to the nights activities wouldn't you say?

And don't forget, when you get back home you get to give her shit back and she'll see that shit coming back out of that fanny pack she blew you over earlier in the evening behind the dumpster. I think you know what comes next. Mine only cost like $23 so it's definitely worth the investment and we haven't even gotten inside my house yet.

Once we do make it inside, fanny pack foreplay and the smell of leather wafts throughout the place all night long. Make her a chiropractor appointment for in the morning, throw on some Van Halen. She smells a little but whatever. Get all of that woman. How YOU want it.

In the morning, cancel the appointment and call Billay to come get his mom.

In that configuration (in hunting/fishing) we call that a slingpack.

I have several, but all for hunting and fishing. Never really thought about wearing one around town, even though I have one similar to the bottom pic, but smaller and just dark gray. But I don't carry that much stuff around with me most of the time. Just wallet/phone (back pocket), smokes (front pocket), lighter (coin pocket), keys (belt loop), pocket knife (clipped in front pocket) and gun (AIWB/HIWB).
