I use a blade to for most of the real estate, but I use an electric trimmer to shape.

Problem is, I have never been pleased with my precise trimmers...I feel they leave a lot more stubble than advertised.

I want something to give me clean cut lines.

What do you use? How do you like it?

Im not sure what youre wanting. Electric shaved that doesn't leave stubble or something to trim the goatee?

Honestly to do a beard right you need a set of quality clippers and trimmers.

I use a wähl haircut kit. They're super inexpensive and last forever.

I have just a mustache since 1971 when I was in Korea. No beard now, but I did have one for about ten years. In fact I've cut my own hair since I've gotten out of the Army in '72, never go to a barber and pay them to screw it up. A salon is nice when a woman is doing your hair, but it's an expense I can do without. I've been using this Remington trimmer for hair and mustache the last ten years or so. It has a slide on the top so you change the guard length in a split second. I paid about $25 at Walmart.

I keep a clean face so I can only address half of your problem: use a blade and a good shave cream. I have never been able to get a decent shave with an electric. You probably need two good tools to do two very different jobs.

You want to trim your beard in the Shower? I have heard of shaving in the shower. I don't think I would want to shape a wet beard.

I think that may be his problem. Trimming the beard in the shower is a huge no no. Water weighs down the beard and lengthens the beard making it an uneven length.

Wahl trimmer. Cheap, nothing fancy. Detachable head types. Does the job.

But i do have a couple of beard oils, a beard cream and a brush specific for the beard.

My Billy Jealousy Devil's Delight Beard Oil costs more than my trimmer does.

I believe I have a Norelco, which comes with many attachments. Nose hair trimmer, etc.

It also comes with a different blade and guard set for doing body hair, like your junk and balls and such.

It's a nice unit. :thumb:

I got to test out multiple Braun beard trimmers recently as part of a review team. One was $250, not worth it at all. I really don't even use them. I like to trim my beard with my normal clippers, then shave the neck and under chin area with a razor. These $80+ things are just not worth it in my opinion.

Get a good barber.
My beard grows in super thick, I SHOULD get it trimmed up every couple of weeks but I go every other month and get it real tight on the sides and get the length just shorter than I like it.
By the time I can get back (my place is booked solid constantly) it's ready to get a full work up.
I use strictly Smell Like A Viking oils and Balms.
I shave a good line on with a regular Harry's razor. I've learned where to shave my neck to and keep it clean.
