Louis Riddick is solid at least.

ESPN is reverting to a three-man booth for its "Monday Night Football" broadcasts this fall.

According to multiple reports, Steve Levy will take over as the play-by-play announcer, becoming the fourth person to hold that title since 2015. The color commentators will be former NFL players Louis Riddick and Brian Griese.

Well pretty much anything was an improvement compared to the way it was the last 2 seasons

you'd think for the billions upon billions that the ESPN pays for the monday night rights, they could get an All-Star Announcing team.

but there i'll be, watching still.

I seem to recall watching a Bama game last year or so where it was a brocast where they didn't have any / zero announcers. Just audio of the fans, and some players via the parabolic mic thingy. it was glorious.

I'd pay a subscription to watch a game on simul-cast where there was no announcers at atll. given my curent home theater doesn't allow me to adjust the center audio to eliminate the commentators.

Steve Leavy and Brian Griese. ESPN just moved up its SEC broadcast team to MNF.

I didn’t tune into some of the shit matchups.

It was that bad.

Here’s the thing, who would that be? Who’s in their lineup you’d be excited about? Apparently Manning told them to get bent. LOL

They can't broadcast a Super Bowl. That is why the top talent turns them down.

yeah, i kind of stretched the truth there a bit. realistically i cant watch all the games, but i will tune and watch a bit.

the booger on the lift thing was really really odd IMHO.

Sorry

Why not Dan Shulman? His voice would be great for football.

Steve Levy was always a good listen when he was doing NHL on ESPN.
Louis Riddick is solid, and Griese isn't horrendous. If nothing else, it's an upgrade from last year's crew.

I don't mind announcers. Kevin Harlan is top shelf, and Romo has been great IMO. The play by play guys are usually OK, it's the color guys that suck (Looking at you Dan Fouts).

But I don't mind having announcers explain some of the stuff that goes on.

Really wish they’d move the broadcast back to ABC. I remember Monday Night being a weekly must see event growing up. Since moving to ESPN it’s just been more of an “eh”. Thing.

That is part of the problem. Some still do not get ESPN. Most everyone gets OTA ABC station.

Also why SNF on NBC is a bigger deal.

anything is better than Booger saying Booger things. i like Riddick; he should be a solid announcer. Really just wish that MNF match-ups were good. Too many times MNF is a contest between two teams that no one cares about and have no shot at the post-season.

They should go with Marv Albert.

Also I want to take this opportunity to say fuck you to the network that has Dan Farts cover our games.

Booger and Witten (the yr prior) was just a wtf for me.

Shoulda kept tessatore and put Riddick in the there.

Meh. Okay. Definitely an improvement, especially with Riddick. He's solid.

Watching the Texas at Saints replay from last season this morning, and Booger has some amazing insight. Regarding Taylor Hill “ you can get an idea of what the SaintS are going to try to do based on where Hill lines up. If he lines up at TE, he’s gonna block or go out for a route. If he lines up QB he’s gonna go to the read option game or throw it”

I shit you not.
