What would you say? I was thinking about this when I recalled that Rany did a piece similar in nature, but not quite: https://www.theringer.com/nfl-playoffs/2020/1/28/21107891/kansas-city-chiefs-fandom-super-bowl-breakthrough

We were just coming off an AFC Championship game loss, but there were still good times ahead. Incredibly frustrating times, but good times nonetheless. Even the 2000s had the Vermeil teams prior to the doldrums of the late 2000s, early 2010s. At that point, we hit what had to be the nadir of my fandom. I mean, a dude killed himself at 1 Arrowhead Drive.

What if you only had 280 characters? How do you briefly describe the rise of our Savior and the fruits of the symbiotic relationship between our coach and new GM?

I know you haven't learned to read this yet so this letter probably is going to do a lot of good but Go Chiefs! And in a few years don't leave that signed Carlos Beltran baseball in your seat, you little shit.

PS. And don't go around that sixteen-year-old Larry kid across the street, he'll make you suck his dick.

You would of had to wait 3 years to do that, but good advise. It opened at $18 a share in 1997, which means if you would have invested 10K, it would be worth over 12M at today's price. :doh!:

Hey, man. I know you're enjoying Joe Montana. And I know you're going to think Steve Bono is almost as good as Joe Montana. So just try to enjoy this, and enjoy that game against the Donks in '97.

And I mean it. Enjoy it all. Because when '98 rolls around, you're going to get a wake up call. And you'll still probably enjoy it it a little bit. But get wise fast, and watch out for the bald guy. He's literally Satan!

But don't worry, football Jesus is coming. So hang in there. And learn Adobe Suite.

PS - Do NOT bring a sign to section 324 for your first Chiefs game. Dumbass.

PPS - Jesus Christ, try not to be a bitch online. And instead of driving around the block three times, GO IN TO THE PARTY.

I'd want to give myself hope, and I also wouldn't want to spoil it by saying anything too specific because I'd want to enjoy all of the seasons in between. So I'd go with this:

It may take a while, but you will see at least one Super Bowl win in your lifetime, and it will not be a fluke. Things will start turning around as soon as you think it can’t get any worse, and it will be glorious. Prepare yourself for the greatest player in NFL history.

Don't bother having high hopes for the Chiefs until 2019. Ditto the St. Louis Blues. Get laid a lot, drink less, and stay away from that pretty chick from Chicago that chats you up in the office. But 2019 will be epic.

"Yo listen. Every pro sports fandom choice you've made looks completely retarded until about 2014. Just stick with it; use it as cover for being educated about those sports in general when it comes to dispensing takes about what players/teams are good and what teams/players aren't and just ride shit out."

That's my goal. I want to have hope for the future, but I don't want to ruin every season by knowing that it's futile until we draft a quarterback. In 1999 I want to be thinking, "Maybe John Tait's the guy", and then in 2006 I'll think "Maybe Brodie Croyle is the guy." It'll make that two-decade wait fun.

Well, kind of fun.

I kept two vehicles for a long, long time. Sold the second one just last year. But I couldn't know that back then, so I'll need to trick myself a bit.

"See that truck in the driveway? You'll wear it out, get another one just like it, and when it's gone read this note again...see? That took no time at all, did it?"

1. Stop wasting so much money on delicious gourmet food, great variety of expensive tasty alcohol, hot slutty escorts, high end cigars, global luxury travel, fancy costly cars, nice designer clothes and jewelry, and gambling at casinos and racetracks.

I really fucked up!!! ROFL
