Need a pair for the deck with decent sound that will also hold up to the elements. Doesn't have to be some fancy high priced name brand, just looking for bang for the buck.

Who has a set that they really like?

These aren't cheap, but they are [were?] solidly made and have speaker drivers from higher end source.

I've had a pair forever, and I have the home theater speakers they're based on, the much more expensive NEAR [New England Audio Research] speakers, even longer.

For an independent voucher, I have noticed that several of the nicer theme parks I've been to use them as their outdoor ambient music speakers.

For a size approximation, a gallon of milk compares to if you set it side by side, with the cap of the gallon of milk tapering off in one of the areas that is rounded on the the side.

And they're substantial about 20lbs each.

Clicked the first link and saw the price and thought it wasn't bad at all...then I saw it was just for one. But I wouldn't be opposed to dropping $300 on a set if I knew I'd get a good 10 years out of them. From the little asking around I've done personally, no one has had a set of anything last over 5.

I am intrigued though...

Just gave my son a set of Boston Acoustics I used to 8-10 yrs. Do not remember model or price, but they lasted.

$69.99. AOMAIS GO Bluetooth Speakers, 40H Playtime Outdoor Portable Speaker, 40W Stereo Sound Rich Bass, IPX7 Waterproof Bluetooth 5.0 Wireless Pairing, 10000mAh Power Bank, for Party, Travel.

I have two, paired for 80w and full stereo sound, and they fill a place with no distortion at full volume. They are bad ass. Bluetooth or RCA. 40h battery life (fast charging) or flow through power. Two 15w drivers and 10w tweeters out the front with two passive subs out the rear. Waterproof and a really solid/durable/rubberized build. Also has it's own charging port for other devices. And they will play unpaired even if paired when you just need one (though I think only one will show up on the device list so keep that in mind. I identified the one that shows up and put a little marker on it so I would know. But I think that is only if both are within range). These are seriously what you should get because you can take them anywhere too.

My only slight complaint is the micro USB charger as it feels flimsy, but with no issues as I am careful plugging/unplugging. Others have the same level of discontent. One of mine showed up DOA and they immediately replaced it accompanied by a full refund. Reviews are overwhelmingly positive.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071H8MJ99?tag=inftodsho-20 And they have better, more expensive models to choose from. They have smaller models with better sound quality I suppose but the bass is what you want outdoors. And I like bass anyway. But it's not noticeable really between the two as the next video illustrates.

Hadn't really considered Bluetooth but I can see some advantages...no wiring and they're portable, can be used anywhere, I had a kickass JBL Pulse that I used to use on my bike rides but due to me being a dumbass it met an unfortunate fate.

Then again, there's something to be said about speakers mounted high on the house that no one can walk off with and they're always ready to go and I don't have to put them away every night.

Shit just got more complicated... LMAO

And yes, I do like some bass. Which brings up another disadvantage to Bluetooth...I usually cut down the midrange quite a bit which requires an equalizer which my sound system has but I doubt most Bluetooth speakers have that flexibility. And I'm not aware of any way to tether them since my stuff is old school and not Bluetooth capable.

I like our portable Bluetooth speaker. I take it on the patio, by the pool, in the garage, workout room. I use it a ton but get a bigger one that sounds decent.

This. I have the Bose Soundlink Revolve + speakers, and it's fantastic. Obviously, it's Bose, so it's going to be pricy, but the sound quality is fantastic. It's slightly larger than say a pint glass, but not by much. Very easy to carry outside and back in, and get's very loud. Of course, everything is blue tooth connected, and works great with either my phone, computer, and while I haven't tried to hook it up, I probably could to my AppleTV if I tried. Keeps a charge for a very long time as well.

I don't have a large backyard area, so I have one speaker, and that is plenty good enough for my space. But, I believe that you can sync two speakers together.....would be totally overkill in my mind unless you're trying to cover acres....

So, the only real issue is the cost, and even that (at least to me) wasn't really an issue for not only the quality of sound, but for the amount that we use it. If we're not outside, then we might use it when doing things around the house as well.....it's really a great little device

Bose gets a lot of hate because you're paying for the name, but i think they make pretty good stuff. I have an old Acoustimass system that i love and the factory Bose system in my Camaro is awesome as well. But for 3 bills I'd probably lean towards the ones Baby Lee suggested.

These are bullet proof. I have one on the front of my ATV and it gets tons of dust in it, rained on, snowed on, beat like a circus monkey, and still has great sound. You can get a couple and pair them as well. When it gets to much dust in there, I just stick it in the sink and spray it out.

Good sound and very reasonably priced as well. You can get into two of them for a buck twenty two.

If you are considering blue tooth, Ultimate Ears is what I use and am really happy with.

The Megaboom 3 is lots of full sound. Even the Boom 3 can fill up a back deck. I have both. They’re dust and waterproof, my son put his in the pool to confirm it. They say they are drop proof, haven’t tested that.

Have not heard the Hyperboom, from the reviews it’s more than is needed unless you’re throwing big house parties.
