Good thing we are set! I think our draft picks in the Mahomes era will be super fast WR’s and Oline. Great D guys will take a short term contract to grab a ring. Our foundation is set for many years.

Obviously we don’t need him with CEH in tow.

But can you imagine Kamara in this offense? He would break records.

He is gonna want Mixon money, so no thanks. But we it's fun to think. Him in this current offense would be....whew.

If he'd do it, you could trade for him, then tag and trade him again next year. He won't play without a contract though I'd imagine.

Rb's in today's NFL, especially ones on good smart teams just get boned. Then you have the bengals breaking RB's off financially.

A team can afford to pay a RB if it's in a spot like the Bengals where they have a rookie QB that they're committed to at a low price point for the entire duration of the 'real' years of that RB deal.

Mixon+Burrows is going to be less than what most of the NFL is paying for it's RB/QB combo. It works out that way.

Where we chose to overspend to buy a #2 WR, the Bengals chose to retain their best young offensive skill-player. It's defensible.

Baun and Ruiz are on rookie deals.

So if they aren't injured, this is another protest thing. Jenkins has been outspoken for several years, IIRC.

Obviously speculation but they may have a genuine locker-room problem on their hands and it may rat-fuck them if these players decide they can't line up behind Brees if he's under center.

Kamara and CEH together on this offense? LMAO

At a point you really do run out of footballs, though.

Anything that takes the ball out of Hill's hands is a bad thing. He's the most efficient weapon on this team by a fair amount. Behind him is Kelce. Then probably Watkins and then Hardman.

I mean - toss Kamara in that mix and it likely comes largely at the expense of CEH and if not him, it comes by taking the ball away from guys I'd rather have with it.

It's almost embarrassing to say it, but we really are reaching the point of diminishing marginal returns on offensive skill-position players. At least in 2020.

Yep. That was exactly my argument against a guy like Fournette. These guys want to be feature backs and they want to (eventually) be paid like premiere players. There's just no room in the KC offense for that - those guys would be 4th options here, at best.

The Dolphins have to be considered favorites out of a weak-ass East if they get him, right?

At least strong contenders.

An ascending defense, solid weapons out wide with Parker/Williams/Geiseke and Kamara in the mix. If Tua is even an average QB at that point, that's a potential 10-11 win team and if one of those wins is stealing a game in NE or Buffalo, they could hold serve at home against them, beat up on a relatively easy schedule and steal the division.

With room to run in the future.

The Dolphins are just a perfect spot for him.

If I had to take one RB in the league just to win one game, I think it'd be Kamara. You really can't go wrong with anyone in the top 5, but he'd be my pick. I think he's the best. That said, he's got some injury concerns. The only RB in the league I'd consider paying that kind of money for is Zeke.

That’s why the whole “we have CEH for 6 years!” discussion was never realistic, especially for a RB.

These guys aren’t going to wait until they are 28 to get paid.

Yeah, this year Dalvin Cook, Mixon and Kamara are basically holding out while still going to camp. Mixon just got paid, $12 million per year is actually a pretty fair price for the player and the team. Kamara and Cook are asking for the same $$$ that Christian McCaffrey received, around $16 million per year. Next year it’s going to be Barkley’s turn. The top rookie RBs won’t play out their full contracts anymore.

Honestly I think Kamara would be a pretty good fit in CHI. They're going to be run-centric anyway, and the guy is an elite 3-down back.

But at TB he could make the playoffs, assuming Brady can play just a little better than he did last year.

But NO will never trade him to TB, especially for that reason.

As a receiver, they’re close, but McCaffrey is the better runner and I don’t think it’s even debatable. Kamara has yet to even reach 900 rushing yards in a season. McCaffrey is a bell cow. Kamara is best when paired with a RB like Ingram.

That’s because Kamara’s yet to reach 200 carries in a season. He’s got a 5.0 YPC average to CMC’s 4.7.

He hasn’t had that many carries because he isn’t capable of handling that kind of workload. He’s never had 200+ carries or 1,000 yards going back to college.

McCaffrey is every bit as good of a receiver, but he’s also capable of handling the workload of a bell cow in terms of running the football. He’s significantly better because of this.

Not to mention McCaffrey hasn’t been in nearly as good of an offense or ran behind one of the best OL’s in the NFL (in reference to your YPC argument).

Well Jamaal actually did it while Kamara hasn’t once even going back to college. Kamara might be bigger, but he hasn’t been as durable with less of a workload (not to say he’s injury prone, but he’s battled them going back to college as well). He’s never even had 900 yards rushing going back to college and you’re just shrugging it off. He’s a great player and can get you over 1,600 total yards, but he’s not quite McCaffrey. Maybe that gives him the longevity, but he’s not better than McCaffrey today.

Jamal had 190 carries for 1,120 yards his second year and 230 carries for 1,476 yards his third. If it weren’t for an ACL injury he would’ve had 1,000+ yards rushing in 4 of his first 5 seasons, the only other season being his rookie year.

It’s exactly what I’m saying it is. The difference that you’re focusing on is the fact that Charles was better than Kamara.

You keep highlighting the fact that Charles broke 1,000 yards while Kamara didn’t which is disingenuous because you’re literally talking about the most efficient RB of all time.

That’s not important. We’re talking about whether or not they can be a feature back. Circa 2009 there were people just like you claiming Jamaal couldn’t carry the load, as you’re doing now with Alvin. He got limited carries in his first three seasons for that very reason. It wasn’t until his fifth season that he got the opportunity to be the bell cow and he did it with no problem. Kamara hasn’t been given the time to prove himself just yet.

There are reasons he hasn’t broken the 900 yard mark and it’s not because he isn’t good enough to do so. Do you really think Kamara couldn’t handle another 5-6 carries per game? If given those extra 100 carries per season, you really don’t think Kamara would crack the 1,000 yard mark? This is a dumb argument.

Never being a 1,000+ yard rusher is relevant when we’re comparing him to McCaffrey as a runner whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

And the “reason he hasn’t broken the 900 yard mark” is because the Saints clearly prefer to pair him with somebody that can split carries and run in between the tackles. Unlike Kamara, Jamaal and McCaffrey proved they can do that consistently on their own.

If he was given that kind of workload I think he’d break down fairly quickly. Even Jamaal had only 200+ carries 4 times in his career.

Again, Kamara has been less durable early in his career than Charles and McCaffrey with a smaller workload. Why do you continue to overlook this?

Kamara isn’t injury prone or anything, but he’s battled injuries and he hasn’t even had 200 carries yet. He’s clearly best in the role the Saints use him in, and you’re ignoring that as well.
