I don't eat it all that much but every now and then, I didn't realize till today that they have literally gotten rid of everything worth a shit on their menu..are they trying to go out of business on purpose?

How do you ax

Mexican Pizza
All Shredded Chicken
All Potatoes

7-Layer Burrito
Beefy Fritos Burrito
Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes
Chips & Dips
Grilled Steak Soft Taco
Loaded Grillers (Cheesy Potato, Beefy Nacho)
Mini Skillet Bowl
Nachos Supreme
Spicy Potato Soft Taco
Spicy Tostada
Triple Layer Nachos

Would they like no one to ever eat there again?

I can’t remember if I’ve ever had anything at Taco Bell besides the big grilled burrito things but what’s on that list above.

What’s replacing it?

$5** Grande Nachos Box: Includes a layer of tortilla chips, a double serving of seasoned beef, refried beans, nacho cheese sauce, three-cheese blend, pico de gallo, guacamole and reduced-fat sour cream. The box, which comes complete with a medium drink, is returning for a limited time and is available for pick-up, delivery, and in our app.
● Beef Burrito: A new permanent addition to our Cravings Value Menu, we’re certain this $1** burrito will become a new fan favorite.

Quesarito: While the Quesarito may be removed from our menuboards, there is no need to say goodbye. You can still order the Quesarito digitally via our website or on our app.

That's all they are adding, so apparently you better be into dorito tacos or chalupas.

They are 'clearing space for plant based options' was what I saw a month or so ago when the rumors first came out.

Seriously. They got rid of potatos and that 7 layer vegan thing (that was actually really good) for some strange 'beyond cat' meat that they're going to use instead.

Absolutely done with them.

Azteca (I think) makes a taco salad shell that you put around a form and bake for about 10 minutes at 350 - it's damn strong.

Then if you keep the form you can just put flour tortillas around it, but the store-bought shells are better because they bubble up and get that sort of chalupa texture to them.

Highly recommended. Usually by the cotija cheese and stuff like that in the refrigerator section.

If you can't manage to make a spicy potato soft taco in a timely manner, you have a process/training issue rather than a menu problem.

But they didn't ask me...

Wait... that came back? They were nuked when I was a teen. Then they came back for a bit. Then got nuked again.

I haven't seen a chilli cheese burrito on the menu in over a decade. It is literally why I stopped going to Taco Bell. I used to get a bag of fritos and crush some into the burrito along with the hot sauce.

When did you ask?

I went there after softball the DAY the menu changed. I did my standard order and literally everything but my chicken chalupa supreme was gone.

So I gave the chili cheese burrito a stab - was ALSO gone. Ended up trying one of their 'replacement' beef burritos. Who the hell convinced them that their ground up pet food was the star of the show here? The LAST thing I want is more of that ground 'beef'.

Are you positive it's still there? Because it wasn't in CoMo.

Must have a more accommodating shop than the one off Stadium was.

Yeah, they've been off menu for quite awhile, but they'd make 'em if you asked for 'em so they must have still been in their point of sale system.

But they were not having it on new menu day. Maybe it's not universal and they still live in your spot. And man, that beef burrito thing was just ass.

Hmm, that $1 beef burrito looks pretty good though. It’s got the jalapeño sauce and seasoned rice with nacho cheese. Looks like perfect drunk food.

I understand the need to simplify the menu but this seems excessive. Obviously this is one of those situations where a new CEO comes in and has a power trip, feeling the need to “shake things up” even when it wasn’t necessary.

Bad moves.

The only time I've heard the name Taco Bell in the last year or two is to see people angry at them taking things off the menu. Anything is possible after they axed the double-decker taco, but the mexican pizza one pretty much takes all options away for me.

I don't really get it, aren't most things on the menu just variations of like 10 ingredients?

It was discontinued at a national level, but some locations still serve them. It’s up to each particular restaurant. Some have them and some don’t. I have a friend who owns a location in my area and he has them on his menu. There used to be a website that actually kept track of which ones had it but I think it’s gone now.

I went about ten years without eating at Taco Bell, and then one was next to my hotel on a business trip a year or two ago and it was the only convenient restaurant. I got these little cinnamon dessert balls and was instantly addicted. I went back the next night and got them again. But twice since then I went into a Taco Bell with cinnamon on my mind and they weren't on the menu. I left without making a purchase.

Feel pretty much the same. Of course, I live in the PHX area, and mom & pop Mexican shops are literally uncountable around here, so finding high-quality Mexican food is as difficult as throwing a stick out my window, so that might make me a tad biased. Taco Bell is removing Mexican Pizza, other items from menu

Taco Bell is thinning its menu starting November 5 to make way for several new items.

It’s sad news for Mexican Pizza fans this fall, as the packaging-heavy meal didn’t fit Taco Bell’s vision for the future.

Taco Bell revamping menu, eliminating some favorite items
“We know some fans may be sad to see this one go, we are too. One silver lining of saying goodbye to the Mexican Pizza that might help you rest easy is that removing it from our menus helps us work towards our commitment to leave a lighter footprint on our planet,” Taco Bell said in a news release.

Also on the chopping block are Pico de Gallo, which will be replaced by fresh diced tomatoes, and Shredded Chicken. Shredded Chicken lovers will have the Classic Chicken Quesadilla or new Chicken Chipotle Melt to choose from instead.

“We’re constantly evaluating ways to provide a more efficient restaurant experience, and have already begun to see progress from streamlining our menu,” said Mike Grams, Taco Bell President, Global COO. “While we know fans may be understandably sad to see some of their favorites go, this evolution of our menu truly paves the way for fresh new ideas. The creativity and innovation in our kitchen hasn’t slowed down at all, and we look forward to rolling out new fan favorites.”

The old items are making way for two nationwide menu additions – the Chicken Chipotle Melt and Dragonfruit Freeze – as well as a regional roll out of Green Sauce and a Quesalupa. The Quesalupa will begin a test in Knoxville, Tenn. on Sept. 24 and consists of a classic chalupa shell stuffed with a cheese blend of pepper jack and mozzarella “so there is delicious melty cheese throughout.”

Taco Bell also reminded customers that the 7 Layer-Burrito and Quesarito, both victims of previous menu overhauls, can still be ordered using options on the mobile app.

I don't eat it all that much but every now and then, I didn't realize till today that they have literally gotten rid of everything worth a shit on their menu..are they trying to go out of business on purpose?

How do you ax

Mexican Pizza
All Shredded Chicken
All Potatoes

7-Layer Burrito
Beefy Fritos Burrito
Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes
Chips & Dips
Grilled Steak Soft Taco
Loaded Grillers (Cheesy Potato, Beefy Nacho)
Mini Skillet Bowl
Nachos Supreme
Spicy Potato Soft Taco
Spicy Tostada
Triple Layer Nachos

Would they like no one to ever eat there again?

The Mexican Pizza and the Beefy Frito Burrito are the only thing on that list that I have ever ordered or ate from there.

I haven’t had one in years. They aren’t on West Coast menus at all.

They've never offered Chili Cheese Burritos in Los Angeles, or least in the past 27 years and the last time I had one was during a visit to KC in 2009.

Those and the Enchirito were my Go-To Taco Bell items, so I rarely, if ever, stop there for food but when I have, it's been greatly disappointing because it's nothing like it used to be before PepsiCo purchased them in the late 80's/early 90's.

They probably dropped it because they had to fry up the pizza shells, same as the taco salad shells. They have abandoned actually cooking food as much as they possibly could. All of that other shit (crispy tacos, nachos, tostadas) comes in a plastic bag and sits in a warming cabinet to come up to serving temp.

the closest Taco Bell to me is probably the worst run fast food place I've ever seen. I've gone to the restaurant and sat in the drive thru line for 25+ minutes, I've gone and they can't take orders because their machines are down(whatever that means), I've gone at 3 in the afternoon and they inform me they can't take orders because they've ran out of food(uh...), it's insane. I'm sure despite the popularity of these items here, Taco Bell did plenty of market research before right-sizing their menu.

Most restaurants go through a period where they decide that too much is too much and they need to streamline the operations. You can't be everything to everybody.

I can't tell you the last time I at at TB. I can surmise by looking at the list that they're probably trying to reduce packaging and prep costs. Also, some of things are probably niche - almost all of their products have a grilled chicken option, which is much easier to prep than shredded chicken and chicken doesn't do near the volume of beef.

As as the cheese, that's a universal fast food thing. Everything has cheese on it, whether it's McD's, BK, TB, or whatever. Slap some cheese on it and everybody will eat it. :)

Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes
Chips & Dips
Grilled Steak Soft Taco
Loaded Grillers (Cheesy Potato, Beefy Nacho)
Mini Skillet Bowl
Nachos Supreme
Spicy Potato Soft Taco
Spicy Tostada
Triple Layer Nachos

Would they like no one to ever eat there again?

The list in the OP gave me diarrhea just reading it.

And now no more chili cheese burritos :cuss::(:banghead:

The ones in Columbia still have 'em. They're not on the menu - you just ask for them and they must still have the stuff to make them somewhere back there.

It's the most re-heatable thing on the menu so I'll usually get a couple tossed in there. If I'm still hungry at the end, I'll eat them. If not, I'll nuke them for lunch the next day.

I'm still bitter over the elimination of the fiery doritos locos taco. Dicks.

The chicken sandwich thing sucked biggly.

Besides, there's only one place to go right now for a poverty chicken sammich - McDonalds.

Buy one get one for $1 spicy mcchickens. And the spicy mcchicken (with extra pickles) is WAY better than it has any right to be. So you get 2 of those for $2.50. Then you use the app to get yourself a large fry for $1 and a large coke (because McDonalds coke has ground unicorn horns in it or something) also for $1.

So for less than $5 you get two damn tasty sammiches, a large fry and the best Coke around.

Y'know, provided they didn't close due to staffing issues at 7:30 and cancel your mobile order after a softball game thus leaving you with nothing but Arby's on your way home.

Bastards.

I just can't hardly eat there anymore, always feel like I've been fed expensive slop

Last time there 5-6 steak and chicken tacos cost me over $16, each one with MAYBE a tablespoon of meat in it... wanted Mexican last week, and instead called ahead to the local Mexican place and got a chicken chimi smothered in queso, with rice, beans, pico, sour, guac, a bag of tortillas and a side of salsa for $15

I'll never pay for Taco Smell again

They haven't been on the menu in ages then all of the sudden the 'sketchy' Taco Bell up north had it on their kiosk thing. Unfortunately it was like $2.80 and they put it in a bigger tortilla so it had a shitload of chili and the ratios were all screwed up. I really don't want a mouthful of that chili - the viscosity is all off. Just need a little bit as tortilla flavoring.

The off-menu one down south is in the smaller tortilla and costs like $1.79. Its canned chili to tortilla ratio is just right.

They did vanish even from the off-menu stuff a year or so back, but they came back again last time around.

Only way to really do 'value' at Taco Bell anymore is the cravings menu. A couple of those chicken and cheese chipotle rollups, a couple potato soft tacos and a stuff nacho taco gets you to around $5.

Most of their 'value meals' are nothing more than menu price + a free drink. And I don't typically get drinks at fast food anyway...y'know, unless its McDonald coke with the powdered fairies in it.

Was up late last night and decided to get some before bed around midnight.

Put in an app and went through drive-thru to be told they were not taking any orders.

Okay then.....I'll go to the other one that says 24 hours. Lights are off.

Found out around then that TB closes at 8 pm now.

It's food not fit for a fucking dog to eat most of the time. Occasionally when it's made fresh and by a person who halfway gives a damn what they're doing, it's edible. Still overpriced though. Just like pretty much all fast food these days.

But Hawaiian Bros is now the best fast food for those who can get it. You can get a full meal for $7 (a bit more if you sub the Mac for anything else) that is reasonably healthy and tastes great.

You can still get them. This has always been my fave taco there.

Order Chalupa Surpreme and tell them not to fry the shells. They fry Gordita shells to make the Chalupa shells.

As for Baja sauce...it's now called Spicy Ranch. Tell them to sub sour cream for the spicy ranch sauce and boom...you got yourself a Baja style Gordita.

Takes a lil extra work and may have the worker inside rolling their eyes but that's how you do it. Been doing this ever since the Baja Gordita was taken off the menu.
