Copying my prediction from another thread.

New England is also currently ranked 27th in pass defense DVOA and 19th in run defense DVOA.

Here are their 3 opponents’ rankings in DVOA for passing offense and rushing offense:

Miami: Passing-12; Rushing-22
Las Vegas: Passing-8; Rushing-27
Seattle: Passing-3; Rushing-9

The Chiefs are 1st in Passing Offense and 26th in Rushing Offense.

The Chiefs should absolutely shred the New England Defense. Cam will be forced to pass to keep up. The Chiefs pass rush will dominate.

I’m calling this as 38-13 Chiefs.

Seems the only thing is to rush the pats test results through, and hope they come up clean

I don’t even think that’ll do it. I think once everybody (Chiefs representatives and Pats representatives plus the league) gets together, they’ll postpone the game for precaution reasons.

Lot of important Patriots opted out or left in FA. They now don’t have their QB.

I thought this could be a close game, but now? We’re going to obliterate them.

When Cam was playing, somewhere else on the board I think I said 24-14 Chiefs.

If Hoyer starts... 33-10 Chiefs.

At least Stidham might offer a surprise factor, like Herbert on the Chargers. Hoyer is just godawful. I honestly don't even know why he's still in the league.

The Pats are completely out-matched in this one. Their DL can't get pressure consistently, so they'll have to blitz some just to try and mess with Mahomes' timing. Blitzing Patrick is always a bad idea, but we can trust that Belichick will come up with some unscouted looks. Still, for most of the game they're going to have to do what they can with just their down 4.

Their secondary is giving up more than 8 yards per attempt (Chiefs are giving up 7.1 yards/att), and their front is giving up 4.6 yards/carry on the ground, and those numbers are against the likes of MIA, SEA and LVR. And I just rewatched both the SEA and the LVR games vs. the Patriots, and their DL wasn't getting much pressure or penetration vs. those two OLs. They allowed Russell Wilson to torch them, 21/28, 288 yards, 5 TDs, QBR=88.0, and a PRTG of 132. Interestingly, they also allowed SEA to run all over them behind one of the worst OLs in the league, 154 yards.

On the offensive side of things it doesn't get much better. Against three below-average defenses, Cam has managed just 2 passing TDs, and just one watch of any of his three games so far and it's easy to see why. McDaniels is game-planning a run-heavy scheme, which we'd expect, but doesn't trust his OL to just block it up up front, so they're running a lot of motion and misdirection pre-snap to give his OL a fighting chance in the trenches. But against SEA, they managed just 2.7 yards/carry, just 67 yards total.

They turned around and ran all over LV, but a big chunk of their yards came on three plays. Otherwise the Raiders actually played fairly well against NE's offense for a little over half the game. For example, Cam ran 9 times for 27 yards, but really he had one rush for 21 yards, and 8 rushes that netted just 6 yards total.

Another concern is that against the Raiders who aren't known for a tight secondary, Cam was 17/28, 162 yards, 5.8 yards/att, 1 TD, 1 INT and a QBR of just 27.0. And it's worse than just the stat line. I just finished watching that game, and Cam is throwing almost entirely scripted throws. McDaniels isn't having Cam make reads at all. Except for maybe three or four plays, Cam drops back or bootlegs or whatever, stares down his receiver and fires it almost without regard to the coverage.

For example, he threw a deep ball early in the first half that should've been picked, but it really should've never been thrown. In fact, if Cam had actually tried to read the defense he should've seen a receiver wide open on the left sideline, but he never looked over there. Instead, he takes the snap, and almost immediately finds a doubled Edelman (IIRC) running down the hashes, hits his 5th step and tries to fire it in there anyway, even with a safety racing in from the middle to try and break it up. It goes INC, but probably should've been picked. And he does this repeatedly.

And I only really saw Cam try to look off the defense a couple times in the whole game. Most of the time he literally turned his head, found his intended receiver and fired it regardless of coverage.

And when he did have to double clutch and improvise because his first receiver was covered too well for even Cam to consider trying to force it in there, he didn't seem to have another option most of the time. So he would either try to run, or just throw it away. A couple times he tried to make an off-schedule throw to a check-down, but by then he was throwing from a bad platform and he missed, and once threw a really bad INT to a guy that was just standing there.

I think Spags was probably literally licking his chops at the thought of running his defense against Cam, and it's kind of a shame he won't get the chance this week. But I think Hoyer is probably going to have a really bad day against our defense.

Andy is going to have a field day. The Patriots can't generate pressure with their front four, and their LBs aren't good enough to cover Kelce or CEH. They also aren't very good against the run. CEH is going to have a pretty big day in both the passing and running game. Watkins or Hardman might also have break-out days.

I mean, think about this: Cam and the Patriots really only scored 24 points on offense against a Raiders defense that allowed the Chiefs to score 40 in their last meeting. They were gifted a FG and a TD on fumbles by the Raiders. And they allowed 20 points (should've been 27) by a team that has scored just a single TD against our defense over the last three meetings.

I know Bill will try some smoke and mirrors, but at the end of the day NE just doesn't have the horses to stay in the game late. They might get a TD in garbage time, but this one should be over very early.

44-16 Chiefs.

If you’re BB, this really sucks.

You spend all week preparing a game plan...then your QB gets the rona and he’s out.

Now you have a completely different QB with a completely different skill set (or lack thereof) on short notice against the best team in the league.

Hard to envision the Patriots keeping this one close unless the Chiefs absolutely shit the bed.

Hoyer has been pretty terrible even back to his Texan days.

Im thinking something like this also. Hoyer sucks, but he can be "ok" in spot starts. If the CHIEFS can get off to a quick start, they'll light NE up. Hoping for that.

A) a trick play

B) a ST play
