At the ripe old age of 12 after watching that movie with my pops I decided Jack Ryan is who I wanted to be (Minus the college professor part). Quite satisfied where that took me. I was going to post this quote. It’s a great quote.

Death comes for us all and so it isn’t a surprise he died, but part of me, unlike Goldfinger, did not expect Mr. Bond to die.

I loved that he kept his Scottish accent in whatever he played. Another great, under-appreciated movie was Outland, where he played a lawman on a moon of Jupiter. Well worth a watch.

The Man Who Would Be King has kind of faded into obscurity, but it is a great film. Definitely not PC (at all) but if you've never seen it and aren't bothered by that sort of thing, it's definitely worth a viewing. Connery and Michael Caine at their absolute best.

A year later we were back at the drive-in to see From Russian with Love. I never figured out until years after Jaws was released that Robert Shaw the mean Russian spy was the same Captain Quint in Jaws.

A year later when I was 15, I went on my first unofficial date. My best friend had a cousin visiting from Miami named Gena, I thought she was hot. They all said, were' going to the movies to see Thunderball, I said, I'm in. I called it a date since we hung out, but it was good time.
