The Hunt for Red October isn't a guilty pleasure. That's a legit film..

At the ripe old age of 12 after watching that movie with my pops I decided Jack Ryan is who I wanted to be (Minus the college professor part). Quite satisfied where that took me. RIP Sean, every now and then when a sharp turn is needed I’ll throw out a staunch “RIGHT FULL RUDDER” and of course my girls lol at me like I’m crazy.

I remember actually going to the theater to see the movie. I sat through the whole thing. At the end, as the end-credits rolled by I asked my self - "Did you actually just watch that ridiculously stupid movie!?!?"

Seems like most every actor, at one time or another, does a "shit for brains" movie..... ROFL

“Your best. Losers are always talking about their best. Winners go home and **** the prom queen.”

I was going to post this quote. It’s a great quote.

Death comes for us all and so it isn’t a surprise he died, but part of me, unlike Goldfinger, did not expect Mr. Bond to die.

I loved that he kept his Scottish accent in whatever he played. Another great, under-appreciated movie was Outland, where he played a lawman on a moon of Jupiter. Well worth a watch.

RIP, Mr. Bond. RIP.

The Man Who Would Be King has kind of faded into obscurity, but it is a great film. Definitely not PC (at all) but if you've never seen it and aren't bothered by that sort of thing, it's definitely worth a viewing. Connery and Michael Caine at their absolute best.

Damn another great actor gone. One movie I don't think anyone has mentioned that I enjoyed him in was Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

"Another “Indiana Jones,” Connery said, had been the only thing that really tempted him to come out of retirement. That could be because the glint of mischief that accompanied nearly every Connery performance was so present in “The Last Crusade.” Connery always left you feeling if not shaken then very happily stirred".

I’m by book, Craig is definitely #2. Brought an edge to the Bond character for sure. Just not as suave as Connery’s version

Both have done a great job with the character

I didn't see a smiley face. ;) That's equal to saying Matt Cassel was the best Chiefs QB.

My dad was a big James Bond fan, I guess he had read the books. So when I was about 13 in '63 we got in the family car and me and my mom all went to the drive-in movies to see the first Bond, Dr. No. I was soon hooked on Sean Connery as Bond. A year later we were back at the drive-in to see From Russian with Love. I never figured out until years after Jaws was released that Robert Shaw the mean Russian spy was the same Captain Quint in Jaws.

A year later when I was 15, I went on my first unofficial date. My best friend had a cousin visiting from Miami named Gena, I thought she was hot. They all said, were' going to the movies to see Thunderball, I said, I'm in. I called it a date since we hung out, but it was good time.

The best Bond is the Bond we never knew about. While Connery and Moore and Brosnan were fighting and driving fancy cars and bedding down female spies, the best Bond was lurking unnoticed in the background of other movies. We don't know who he was - he was one of the runners in Chariots of Fire. He was a patron at the diner in Pulp Fiction. He was an offensive lineman in Remember The Titans. We'll never know who he was, but he was there, changing the world in the background as we naively watched other people shine in the spotlight.
