False. This loss means we can afford a loss to either New Orleans or the Falcons.
No matter what, the Steelers have to lose 1 more game. If they do, they'll be 14-2.
That means we can afford to lose 1 more game, as long as it's out of conference, and still have the tiebreaker.

The loss within our division doesn't matter. They don't do the division tie-breaker between teams in different divisions.

We didn’t have the kind of defense Washington doesOur defense didn't give up a TD in that game. And Smith did tie the game before the refs stole it from us. Smith did miss a wide open Tyreek, though.

Other than confirming that the steelers are the weakest 11-1 team ever, this doesn't affect the seed yet. It only allows the chiefs to drop a game vs the saints or falcons, and hope the steelers lose a conference game.

Yep. In terms of the SOV tiebreaker, this actually helps them because the WFT has a losing record. In terms of priority, we want them to lose to:
1. Buffalo
2. Teams with good records like Cleveland or Indy
3. Anybody else in the AFC
I just love rooting for Alex Smith. Whenever the injury happened, I never thought he'd play another down of football. And then, when the infection came and nearly took his life, that sealed the deal in my mind. Yet here he is. A starting QB. He may not have been the QB KC wanted for a while, but he was what we needed during a time of transition and getting players in place.
Plus, I really wanted the Steelers to lose. :)

I would say that them losing to Washington is worse than us losing to the Raiders, since the Raiders have a better record. Is that not right? Do we need them to lose to someone we've beaten? The overall records of the teams we've beaten is similar, isn't it?

It's not about who you lose to, it's about who you beat.
Them losing to Washington gives us no advantage at all - they're in the NFC and they're a weak opponent. To lower SOV, you want Pittsburgh to lose to good teams, not bad teams because that takes a quality win off their schedule. It seems counterintuitive but there's no disadvantage to losing to bad teams because it's all about winning against good teams.
And yes, that's ultimately the easiest scenario. We have 4 common opponents with the Steelers and have beaten all 4. They have beaten three of them with Buffalo remaining. If they lose to Buffalo, we win the common opponent tiebreaker and the SOV scenario above never comes into play.
It's not about who you lose to, it's about who you beat.

I see what you're saying. So, we can afford one more loss as long as they lose to Buffalo? Not that I want us to lose another game. It would just be nice knowing we have that cushion. :)

We can afford to lose to the Saints or Falcons if they lose to Buffalo.
First tiebreaker is conference record and they have a loss to the WFT (NFC). If they lose to Buffalo but we lose to say, the Dolphins, we have two AFC losses and they win the FIRST tiebreaker.
If lose to say, the Saints, we both have 1 NFC loss and 1 AFC loss, so it goes to the 2nd tiebreaker - common opponents - and we win because of beating Buffalo.
After that, it gets really messy. The Steelers definitely have an advantage in SOV the rest of the way.

Only if it's an NFC loss. We would still lose tiebreaker if we lose to Miami or Chargers.
