Yep, Wiz is on the Active Roster and he was active last Sunday.

My best guess would be Deandre Baker and Gehrig Dieter because I haven't seen anything anywhere about Pringle's health. Pringle was placed on IR on November 24th, so it's past the 3 week deadline and he's eligible to return but there's been nothing written about him since.

I'm sure Reid will release the info by tomorrow as to who was called up to the 53.

The Steelers had 3 offensive linemen with injuries. Matt Feiler was put on IR and Kevin Dotson and Chukuwama Okorafor were also dealing with injuries.

Danny Isidora has some potential as an offensive linemen but the Chiefs had already used him for his two allowed practice squad elevations. The only way we could have kept him was to cut someone from the 53 and elevated him to the active squad. We currently have 9 OL on the active roster with hopefully Schwartz coming back soon to make 10.

I suppose Isidora might have some inside information he might share with the Steelers, but I think it is Pittsburgh needed a OL and Isidora was a good candidate to be picked from a winning team.

Seems like KC might sign another OL to replace Danny Isidora on the PS.

Interesting...

Marcus Kemp has been brought up so many times and later cut that Overthecap.com show him having 3 different amounts in the Chiefs Dead money stats, $158,824, $152,718, and $119,117.

I don't know if Stefen Wisniewski is on the Chiefs 53 man active roster or still on the Practice Squad.

Tracking Chiefs transactions with - https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/transactions/kansas-city-chiefs/
It looks like he is back on the practice squad. Also overthecap.com still shows him on practice squad and chiefs.com does not show him on their depth chart.

I'm not saying one way or another. I'm saying it is hard to tell.

WR Byron Pringle practiced today.

It's confusing but the Chiefs roster on chiefs.com isn't always correct. They add the players that have been elevated from the PS but then leave them on there for several days.

I know this info may not be correct, but here is another story that disagrees with Stefen being on the active squad.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the Chiefs roster stands at 51. Possible ways to fill it include the activation of Pringle — or by calling up cornerback DeAndre Baker or offensive lineman Stefen Wisniewski from the practice squad.

The Chiefs signed Wisniewski in November — and they elevated him to the gameday roster in each of the last two weeks against the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins.

The elevating of players from PS up to play on game day makes it really hard to track what the actual roster looks like.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/transactions/ - Makes it look like Lammons and Wisniewski are on the PS now.

Does anyone know of a site that has an "Official", Official NFL Transaction list?

This seems to be unofficial but good one -

select Kansas City for the team.

It shows Lammons and Wisniewski back on PS.

I agree. I need to take up painting or brain surgery or something fun.

BUT...

If Stefen Wisniewski is on the Chiefs PS, why didn't the Steelers try to bring him back instead of signing Danny Isidora off of the Chiefs Practice Squad?

The Steelers signed Stefen Wisniewski in March to a two year $2.85 million contract. He tore his pec in the first game, Steelers put him on IR, activated him in November and then on November 9th they cut him.

I guess neither side wanted a reunion.

Wiz tore his pectoral in the first game of the season and Pittsburgh released him. The Chiefs had him on the Practice Squad for a few weeks to get him back into football shape and was on the 53 against Miami.

You're making this out to be way more complicated than necessary. And the Chiefs website is the best place to confirm who is and who isn't on the roster and not some 3rd party website.

There is no doubt that he played on Sunday but under the NFL 2020 Covid rules, a team can elevate players from their Practice Squad. They can only do that two times (two games) for an individual player.

I think he was elevated and played, but has returned to practice squad.

Truthfully though, it is really hard to tell if he is on PS or on 53 man active squad.

He's on the 53 according to the Chiefs website and has been active for the past two games, so it's pretty clear he's on the 53.

Maybe this will help explain this situation -

A few lines from December 16, 2020 4:27 PM CST -

https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2020/12/16/22179158/chiefs-find-themselves-in-a-pickle-on-the-offensive-line

And then there’s an additional problem: twice this season, both Wisniewski and Witzmann have been given standard game-day elevations to the active roster.

This matters because under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) signed in the spring, an individual player can receive just two such elevations per year. We know that the COVID-specific CBA modifications that were hammered out before the season do allow for practice-squad elevations that are specifically designated for replacing players on the reserve/COVID list — which we assume are unlimited — but we don’t know if restrictions on the number of standard elevations have been relaxed for this season. We do know, however, that the Chiefs have not used standard elevations more than twice on any player.

So it’s likely that if the Chiefs want to have either Wisniewski or Witzmann on Sunday’s roster, they’ll have to put them on the active roster the old-fashioned way: activate them to the roster, which requires that they stay there for at least three weeks — and then pass through waivers before they can return to the practice squad.

The team currently has just 51 players on the active roster, plus 14 players on the practice squad. On Wednesday, Reid said that wide receiver Byron Pringle — who has been on injured reserve since November 24 — is practicing with the team. It’s a likely bet that Pringle will be activated to take the place of Marcus Kemp, who was released on Tuesday. So that leaves one spot open.

Will the Chiefs opt to activate Wisniewski or Witzmann into that final slot?

Wilson8

Byron Pringle returning from IR

According to the NFL’s official transaction report, the Chiefs have designated WR Byron Pringle to return from injured reserve. Andy Reid indicated that Pringle had returned to practice during his Wednesday press conference, but this makes his return from injured reserve official. He now has three weeks, during which he can practice for the team. At any point during those three weeks, the team can decide to activate him to the 53-man roster from injured reserve.

Some Chiefs Roster Thoughts -

1. Local KC football sites reported that Marcus Kemp was signed by Miami Dolphins but no transaction is being reported and he's not showing on the Dolphins roster. If this is true, the Chiefs could have re-signed Marcus Kemp back to their PS.

2. Currently chiefs.com is showing 56 players on a 53 man active roster. I think the confusion is with the temporary "elevation" of Practice Squad players. Chiefs.com puts these players up on the active roster and then leaves them there. The day after the game, they are supposed to be back on the Practice Squad.

3. The wording on the NFL Transactions for the elevation of a PS player for 1 game is the same as when they truly bring the player up to officially be added to the 53 man active roster, which adds to the confusion.

4. On Saturday I think the Chiefs "Officially" moved Stefen Wisniewski from the PS to the 53 man Active roster. Stefen had already been elevated twice from the PS to the game day roster, so the Chiefs were unable to do that again, so now he is on the 53.

5. I think Chris Lammons is now back on PS. Chiefs.com still shows him on the active roster. Chris has been elevated twice from PS, so the Chiefs can't elevate him again without him being actually signed to the 53 man roster.

6. I think Deandre Baker and Emmanuel Smith were both elevated from the PS so they can play against the Saints. I think Baker might fill the same role that Chris Lammons played. Both Baker and Smith should go back to PS after the Saints game.

7. Danny Isidora is still shown on the chiefs.com Practice Squad. NFL.com shows that Danny was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers and he does show up on the Steelers official website roster.

8. There is NOT a good site that shows what the current roster looks like.
