Me, and I also make cider.

The problem with defining good cider is there is a wide spectrum of tastes, i would say most similar to wine/champagne.
Everything from Bone dry (Natural in Champagne terms) to semi (dry/extra dry/brut), to semi sweet & sweet (demi sec / doux).
There is also a big movement in cider for the cider version of 'sours' which is using wild yeast from the area as opposed to a lab-made yeast (cultured yeast).

With that out of the way I prefer a semi dry, or dry cider , pretty heavy carbonation..and not too much added.
Personally I prefer cultured yeasts (ale, wine, champagne or special cider yeasts derived from those & cultured in a lab)

I Have a lot of recommedations and I live around a badass wine/champagne (sparkling wine) / cider area (sonoma county).
I also make my own cider & fruit wines.

can post some of my top picks but here are a few:

Ace Cider (sebastopol CA) https://www.acecider.com/our-ciders
Golden State Cider (sebastopol CA) https://www.drinkgoldenstate.com/
Horse & Plow (sebastopol CA) https://horseandplow.vinespring.site/#/purchase/tag/Cider
Tilted Shed (windsor CA) https://www.tiltedshed.com/shopciders.html
Two Towns (corvalis OR) https://2townsciderhouse.com/ciders/

Horse and plow is probably the closest to what I like in terms of what I make myself but Ace and Golden State are relatively easy to come by.

TL/DR --- Im a cider dork, AMA

I live near a cidery and it’s amazing. The 2 growlers I grabbed from them over Xmas were:

Berry
Dark, complex semi-dry with raisin, currant and blackberries.

Melon
Semi-dry cider with a delicious blend of Spanish cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, hibiscus and Seville orange.

I always heard that if you had a sore finger you soak in cider.
