I never thought I’d be lucky enough to go to another game as thrilling as the Baltimore game the year before.

The very next game I went to was this one.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">It was exactly one year ago today that the Chiefs overcame a 24-point deficit to beat the Texans, igniting one of the most epic playoff runs in NFL history.<br><br>It was absolutely insane, and I will never forget it. <a href="https://t.co/zgi27HwO5x">pic.twitter.com/zgi27HwO5x</a></p>&mdash; Matt McMullen (@KCChiefs_Matt) <a href="https://twitter.com/KCChiefs_Matt/status/1349019059841626112?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 12, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I assumed that my peak arrowhead experience for life would the noise record night where Brady just got destroyed and blown out, boy was i wrong! I was in the beer line when we went down 24-0 and a guy said dont be sad were about to watch the greatest come back in history. Who ever that man was, Salute!

I yelled “watch the fake!!!” immediately before Dirty Dan got that stop on the fake punt. Everyone around me high fives me. Dirty Dan must have heard me.

My daughter and I went to the game together.. She never lost hope because of Mahomes...Probably the best football experience I’ve ever had because she was there with me to witness greatness..

And two years ago today, they beat the Colts 31-13 for their first home playoff win in 84 years.

I was telling everyone that there was no way Mahomes was going to let that game get away from him.

Oh, I remember that game. It was a playoff game if I remember right.

I may have been the highest Chiefs fan in the country that day. I was up in a small mountain town at over 9,300 feet. I had to catch my breath after every touchdown.

I hope we find out someday who put that sign up so we can give them their proper accolades.

What was so cool about that game was that when we were down 24-0, 90% of the people in that stadium knew the game was over. It was just another in a long line of Chiefs playoff disappointments. We would never be able to overcome “Because Chiefs”. It was just in our DNA.

And then Mahomes and Kelce (with an assist from Dirty Dan) simply put their foot down and said “Enough”.

Watching those guys take over that game basically by themselves was incredible. They were completely locked in and had decided that they were refusing to lose that football game.

It was an incredible exorcism of all the demons that had plagued the franchise and there was zero doubt in my mind after witnessing that game that we were going to go on to win the Super Bowl that year.

Mahomes and Kelce were just not going to be denied.

Funny thing is, as amazing as that game was.. I sometimes forget I went to it because it was overshadowed by the AFC championship game the next week.

This is the first year I haven't been to a chiefs game in probably a decade :(

I went to the AFCCG the year before, which sucked. And after the first quarter I was convinced it was me. I wasn't going to another game ever.

And then rape.

Thing is they dropped EVERY FUCKING THING including Kelce. I'd never seen anything like it. Mahomes was on point and everything would bounce of their hands.
