I mean their defense will be really good probably but...? This is weird.

Herbert will have a revolving door of offensive coaches now in all likelihood.

Exactly. No continuity for Herbert.

Also, while I’m sure this guy is a really good defensive coach... he does have Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey.

Hard to **** that up. Personally thought his game plan yesterday wasn’t great.

Do people understand that the head coach hires a staff? He's going to have a QB coach and OC. He doesn't need to be directly involved in the QB coaching. It's the same with people that say EB shouldn't get a job because he doesn't call plays. He's going to hire a staff and have an OC that does that.

He’s only been an NFL coordinator for one season. Seems like a big jump.

Well, he will have Bosa and Ingram, with Murray Jr, and a solid back end core, so he got the pieces here.

What you don’t seem to understand is if they have success they’ll be looking for another one again soon after.

So Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey got him a job. Honestly I'm okay with a division rival taking him over Daboll.

Good. Herbert is a massive threat. Didn't need him hooked up with a top offensive mind.

It'll be great when Herbert either has crappy coordinators no one wants or loses the good ones to HC jobs.

Eric Bieniemy can’t get a job but some dumbass who has been a coordinator in the NFL for ONE YEAR gets a job.

And his dumbass is NOT a QB coach so that excuse goes out the window.

Seems to me you have a good young QB and your division rival has a good OC that wants a HC gig so why not hurt your division rival and help your team at the same time.

Doesn't make much sense but it is the Chargers we are talking about.

The great QBs in the league almost always have that primary play caller tied to their hip for years and years. It’s the surest way to guarantee stability.

So my rookie QB sets all these records and looks to be developing into something really damn good ....and I go out and hire a defensive coach with little experience?

Apparently he’s bringing the Rams OC with him and McVay can’t block it because it’s a lateral move.

But 2 new black GM’s and a minority HC.

Oh that’s right they don’t care about other minorities or anything that doesn’t fit their narrative...

That's an interesting move. Wonder how long he can keep that guy if he's successful in implementing that offense.

Staley is NOT a Seattle defense tree guy, from what I can tell. Wonder what that scheme will look like now...

why not hire an offensive coach? Stupid.

24-1 recently as OC, 3 AFCCG’s in a row in that position. Best coach and player in the world love him and it’s still not enough though no OC has ever done as much.

Nah. Let’s hire this pimple faced moron who has been a coordinator for 1 year and his unit gave up 23 in a loss to the NYJ despite having awesome talent LMAO

Was LB coach (Rams ain't shit at LB). Gets DC. Has a good regular season because of the best defensive player on the planet, maybe ever, along with the best corner taking away half the field. Gets shit on in the playoffs when Donald isn't 100%. Can't scheme vs Davante Adams, just prays Ramsey can cloak him, which he doesn't.

This hire is 1 thing, as usual with that team: money. This fresh faced kid coach is probably getting like 1/4 of what Urban gets in JAX.
