No, but I did get bit by a damn baby copperhead looking for some last weekend. I'm fine though, just hurt like a bitch and made me nauseous.

I have diaries for the last 15 years for work and I always put down in them when I find mushrooms.. Still a bit early in the Northland (Liberty area). Usually start finding groups of them around the 15th.. Think it may be a late year because the woods don't look quite right yet.. I'm thinking the 20th will be prime...

It's super early for them up here in southern SD but we're going out Sunday morning to our spot along the Missouri River just for kicks.

I'm gonna hunt this weekend. I'll report back. Know they're popping south and southwest of KC, and will hunt public. Gonna wait another week or two to get up to Savannah and hunt family ground.

I must have walked 20 miles of public land and got so little to show for it last year. And walked about 5 more on family ground to find a decent mess. This year is gonna be great though. Best time of year!

Just need to find a good haul and catch a ton of crappie and eat like a king.

Looked close to Smithville lake today, but didn’t find any. Gotta be close, though.

Remember to carry them in a mesh bag so they scatter spores for next year while you’re walking back from your pick spot.

Nothing yet in my normal hot spots. But there's supposed to be a good hard rain tomorrow. And the redbud trees are fully in bloom over the last 2 days. The morels are generally quick to follow...

You can buy spores.

There used to be a place north of Nevada that cultivated them.

I've had absolutely no luck in my favorite spots. I don't know if I'm late to the party and my hotspots have been found and picked over. Anyone killing it in the greater KC area?

Looks like they pop up during our peak black fly season so screw that.

It’s still too early for big groups of yellows.. Going to be a late year because of a cooler spring.. Around the 20th will be prime..

Yup. I figure a week from now (if it warms up) should be good. When I went last night I came across a dozen or do that were just emerging, couldn’t pick ‘em.Then about a half mile away I found those 15 or so that posted earlier. They’ll be here soon. I promise.

Weird bump. My wife sent this link to me. Apparently these are glasses that make seeing Morels on the forest floor much easier. I told her don't spend $99 on this shit unless it finds money on the ground easier.
