Chiefs are not going to move away from CEH - so if he's unhappy about playing time in Indy, it would be just as bad in KC.

I imagine he wants to be a Ram.

Honestly he looks like what i thought Darell could be coming out, but hes never been that shifty. Isnt Darrell at the end of his contract and McKinnon on a one year?

Edit Mack is just on a one year 2 mil deal. I thought he signed a 3 year extension for some reason.

If this came out a week ago I think CP would be all over this. I’d at least see what the Colts are asking for, it’s unlikely there’s going to be a better option on the market this year.

If Clyde continues to struggle we’re going to be screwed at the RB position all year. Not saying Mack is the answer but I think he is capable of taking some touches away from Clyde and with the additional game this year it’d be smart to share the load as much as possible.

I'd do it. Mack has good speed and runs with some spite and anger...none of our other RB's have that in their game and having a two back attack would help us imo. Because when Clyde isn't getting it done the run game is pretty much finished for the day..we need better options now.

And then there's this..................

The Chiefs woke up to a new world on Monday after failing on Sunday Night Football and unofficially losing the favor of most NFL pundits in the grand scheme of things. One Chiefs player waking up to a new world is Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who suffered a knee injury in the loss. Assuming he's out for a long time, the Chiefs need to make a pivot move quickly. Todd Gurley is still available.

Why Todd Gurley should resurface with the Chiefs

Todd Gurley would be a great fit with the Chiefs based on multiple factors. He has playoff experience, a decent body of work not too long ago, and he's fully healthy with fresh legs. For a team with as great expectations as the Chiefs, playoff experience is pretty much a prerequisite for any potential signing.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">.<a href="https://twitter.com/Titans?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Titans</a> OL <a href="https://twitter.com/Rodger_Saffold?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Rodger_Saffold</a> on the unique abilities of RB <a href="https://twitter.com/KingHenry_2?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@KingHenry_2</a>, and his memories of playing with former <a href="https://twitter.com/RamsNFL?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@RamsNFL</a> teammates <a href="https://twitter.com/sj39?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@sj39</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/TG3II?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@TG3II</a>. <a href="https://t.co/IV4lloC35K">pic.twitter.com/IV4lloC35K</a></p>&mdash; Jim Wyatt (@jwyattsports) <a href="https://twitter.com/jwyattsports/status/1446535016335478784?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 8, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Todd Gurley has plenty of playoff experience as he went to the playoffs several times with the Los Angeles Rams. In addition, he also has played in a Super Bowl. With that experience, Gurley will be able to handle the pressure of the moment, if the Chiefs make it to the playoffs or Super Bowl this season.

Todd Gurley also has a decent body of work that is somewhat recent. Just two years ago, Gurley earned nearly 1000 yards and 12 touchdowns. In comparison to Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who rushed for 803 yards last season, Gurley did more in 2019. If that version of Todd Gurley could show up for the Chiefs, their running game could improve beyond 2020's production.

Granted, Gurley has had his fair share of injury issues, which is likely the reason he doesn't have a job yet. However, after sitting for the first third of the NFL season, Gurley should be in the best health of his life. Also, with already one-third of the season in the books, it would mean that Gurley would only need to be healthy for two-thirds of the season.

Even for Todd Gurley, this seems doable. Of course, that calculation doesn't include the playoffs. However, without a running game, the Chiefs may not be able to smell the playoffs. Gurley could put them over the edge. If he doesn't make it to January, the Chiefs can cross that bridge at that point. In the meantime, they'd have a solution in the position.

Not every season is going to go according to plan for the Chiefs. If they want to remain as the class of the AFC, they will need to find ways to overcome adversity. One way is to be active all season long in free agency and add pieces to replace broken parts on the fly. It seems like a match made in heaven. Will the Chiefs pull the trigger?

Yes the turnovers are an issue but I think the issues with the 2 deep looks the team continues to have should still fall under a "struggle". Anyone got the info on where are picks stand as of right now? It's a tough spot to be in if we only have like 5 picks... I'd hate to make a move just for the sake of making a more if there isn't any potential for it being also beyond this season or part of a solution for next year and/or beyond that...

I'm gonna be honest with you chief. I remember Marlon Mack as he was, completely forgot about the injury. But ive dug myself into the Marlon Mack hole. This makes me realize that i didnt die in the Sanders Comings hole just so i could defend this one like a blind 3 legged badger.

This^^

Honestly, at this point in the season the only decent help out there would have to be acquired in a trade I would think. Any teams thinking about trading talent are doing so to get draft pics because they are rebuilding, or they have an albatross of a contract coming due on a player that they don't need to keep.
I don't think the Chiefs are in a position cap-wise to get a big name player, and I am not a fan of trading pics out of desperation. We would probably get more mileage out of a coaching change at DC. The Chiefs aren't the type of team to change coaching personnel mid-season, and even if they would, who is out there that is available? Our only option might be to fight through this and hope these guys can get their minds right. I'm not optimistic, but I also haven't given up. There is still a lot of season left to play.

According to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs have signed RB Elijah McGuire to the practice squad. The former sixth-round draft pick by the Jets spent two seasons in New York, carrying the ball 181 times for over 500 yards and four touchdowns. McGuire has spent time on the practice squad with Kansas City over the past two seasons, but he hasn’t played in an NFL regular-season game since 2018.

A stocky, power running back from Syracuse, New York, Derrick Gore made the most of his time at ULM. Gore originally committed to the University of Alabama and played for the Crimson Tide for two seasons before transferring to ULM.
Gore immediately carried the load for Warhawk running backs and culminated in a stellar statistical senior year. Gore ended the season with 662 yards on 131 carries for an average of 5.1 yards per carry and six touchdowns.
At ULM’s Pro Day, Gore dominated the bench press with 24 repetitions at 225 pounds. He also had a 34-inch vertical and ran a 4.55 in the 40-yard dash. (March 24, 2019)

So Mack is 25 years old, 6 foot tall, weighs around 215 pounds and ran a 4:50 40. His speed is quicker than Chubb and Hunt and is in the same ballpark as Jones, Cook, Sanders, Zeek etc..basically the guy can take it to the house. He can also catch the ball and is good on the goal line.

People talk about his one injury he had last year but he looked very quick and strong from what I saw last night. The bottom line is Clyde probably misses four or five games. Williams is a back-up for a reason, Mckinnon cannot run through the tackles and Gore is already 26 and has only been a practice squad guy. There's no way we can move forward with those three and expect our running game to be anything but mediocre.

Marlon Mack, Miles Sanders or Derrius Guice are the guys I hope Veach is looking at.

We should be trying to get Phillip Lindsey from the Texans..or Drake from the Raiders..

if not Mack

The Colts should fucking give us Marlon Mack as a thank you for taking Clyde Edwards-Helaire instead of Jonathan Taylor. That weird Ubeja fucker was actually right.

Guice? He may be a good fit as a football player but do you think the Chiefs will look his way after the domestic stuff?

I know it's easy to second guess after the draft but I wonder how the Chiefs offense would be doing right now if they would have drafted Metcalf over Hardman and Swift over Clyde?

Still not mad at the Hardman pick. But I'd rather trade my 1st rounders away every year than make picks like the CEH pick

I wanted Taylor then Swift if not Taylor. I figured CEH was too small for the NFL. But what do I know?

why would anyone want to trade for a RB coming off an achilles injury?

I really don't know.

Yeah, she's kind of hot but she's annoying with her political activism.

There's a video out there of Kareem Hunt trying to beat up a chick and eventually kicking her whilst she was on the floor. If he can come back from that then why can't Guice be given another chance? The bottom line is we need a running back who has some strength and speed..Guice has that in spades and he's a free agent. Let's do what's best for this team ffs instead of sitting by like idiots and allowing another team to benefit.

Ha...didn't the dude get rompered? Then either got banned or disappeared. I was totally on the Clyde train but I did see his point that Taylor was a much better athlete. And for what it's worth, I still think Clyde will and should have a prominent role on the team going forward. But he's not an every down back.

I'm not for trading for Mack after thinking about it. We have Williams to handle the dirty work and we signed McKinnon and he hasn't really even had much of a chance yet. Now we have Gore coming up. We just don't need to give up anything more for another RB.

None of our current backs have long speed which is why we haven't had a long td run from an RB since we won the superbowl two years ago..this running backs room is trash and doesn't help this offense at all. Darrel, Mckinnon and Gore are not good enough imo.

Or we could, you know…play Gore and see what he has against real competition before we go sifting through trash cans for scraps.

Our RB depth is trash...what do you mean? Mack was the odd man out of a talented RB room. Our RB's are bottom of the depth chart practice squad material
