Yeah - I think we all badly want him to run with that job and recognize that he's far more talented than Sorensen.

But he's had a fair number of pretty rough reps even while being 'protected' in limited reps.

He's gonna have to grab the starting role by the throat and own it - to this point he just hasn't. It sucks, especially if it's a confidence or injury related thing, but it is what it is.

I imagine his role in the defensive backfield has to be REALLY tough in general, but especially if you're coming into the game cold and without the opportunity to see tendencies play out as the game progresses. There's a certain "feel" aspect of the game that is downplayed here.

Andy said it's not like Sorenson is missing tackles because he's soft, when asked directly about Sorenson - which I'm pretty sure was a shot at Thornhill, trying to light a fire under him or something.

The run defense has made strides because our opponents have discovered it's just as easy (and more yardage) to pass on us. No pass rush and our DBs look like they've been given instructions to play 10-15 yards off of the receivers.

I suppose Spags has done that because he think with no pass rush we will give up 70 yard touchdown passes all the time. But Hurts made super easy throws all day against us without having to "make any plays" at all. He just took the checkdown for an easy 8+ yards all day long. In the 2nd half, Philly started running more after that catch and turned the 8 yard dump pass into a 15-20 yard big play. TE Waller for the Raiders is going to have a field day. :(

I think we might have to average 40+ points the rest of the way to win.
