This is either late for the coronation, or early for the Fourth of July.

Did King Charles release his royal agenda that included taking back the colonies? I'll fight if a bunch of Redcoats show up here.

Those School House Rock vids were great. I saw them all the time Saturday mornings while watching cartoons. Learned a far amount about the country.

Far cry from what yuts today learn and how.

Schoolhouse Rock should still be produced. It was awesome.

I have a history question, though, which has always kind of bothered me. The pilgrims at Plymouth Rock are often presented as America's birthplace. But Jamestown is older. It seems like Jamestown's role gets underplayed in American history.

Plymouth Rock was more of a religious thing and maybe less sanctioned by England. Is that the reason? That doesn't seem like a great reason. Reading a bit more, it seems like Jamestown's goal was more profit than settlement, but they nonetheless were settlers. That also doesn't seem like a great reason.

And I know that we had St. Augustine before both of them, and even conquistadors running around in the Southwest. I kind of understand why those get short shrift since they weren't the English foundation of the colonies. But Jamestown was.
