The Royals finally put Mike Sweeney on the DL because of his strained lower back yesterday. He was placed on it retroactive to July 14th, the last day he played in a game. He can come off the DL on Monday. Hopefully he'll get healthy, although lingering back problems are never a good sign. The Royals had been playing well up until the last couple days without him. If they want to sustain any charge toward 2nd place they'll need him.
