Hey now you’re an All Star. Get your drink on go play.
Hey now, you have cirrhosis, and 9/4 is your last day.
All that liquid you consumed.
Ended up sealing your doom.

I remember it like yesterday, I was 14 and I could hear some shitty music in the distance. As I got closer I then realized it was Smashmouth playing a concert at an outdoor beach volleyball place. I cried a bit inside, and then put in a Nickelback cassette tape into my Walkman.

God you suck at this. Cassette tapes were basically through with their popularity by the mid 90s. Nickleback was formed in 1995. Smashmouth was formed in 1994.

I was poor, you think we could afford CDs?

You were poor, but you lived within walking distance of the beach? Like I said, you suck at this.

I'm not surprised to hear this. The man immediately retired after being absolutely hammered at a private gig that got posted on to youtube.

TBH though... if I had to sing the same 4 songs for 30 years I might pick up the bottle as well.

No. It was a bowling alley in Iowa that had outdoor volleyball where they also had concerts called Lewis Bowl. I think it was Fastball actually now that I think about it. Smashmouth, Fastball, Nickelback. They are all the same thing really.

I read the dude developed a drinking problem after his 6 month old died of leukemia.

Is that true? Or did you just make it up to see if we were all really born without a soul.

True:

In 2001, the Smash Mouth frontman’s 8-month-old son with then-wife Michelle Laroque, Presley Scott Harwell, died of complications from acute lymphatic leukemia after being ill with the disease for only a few weeks. The singer later created the Presley Scott Research Foundation for Leukemia in his son’s honor.

Wiki

Personal life
Harwell had a son named Presley who died in July 2001 from acute lymphocytic leukemia at the age of 6 months.[12] Subsequently, Harwell created a medical research fund in Presley's name.[12]

Illness and death
In 2013, Harwell was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and Wernicke encephalopathy, which can affect motor functions such as speech and memory and cause heart failure. Harwell implied he retired because these problems hindered his ability to perform well.[13]

On September 3, 2023, Harwell's representative reported that he was in hospice care for final stage chronic liver failure.[14][15] Harwell died at his home in Boise, Idaho, at the age of 56 on September 4.[16]

I loved "Walkin on the Sun" until the radio stations played it 1,000,000 times.

Tough and ugly way to die.

I just went out and watched the video. I think I've heard of this song. Regardless, it's not rap and the video had women in bikinis, so I give it a decent score.

Sioux City. Is that place even open anymore? It's been years. I don't think that place would have been that bad if not for the degenerates that live in that cesspool.
