He was kind of dick to Clark Hunt and the coaching staff on the phone when we drafted him. Just being gruff and no thank yous or yes sir or no sir. He only warmed up when the position coach talked to him.

Seemed like a potential red flag at the time. I thought maybe he's trying to show he's serious. But he seemed more pissed than anything else.

The Chiefs really were trying to get more physical on both sides of the ball in the 2022 draft -- Karlaftis in the 1st, Cook in the 2nd, Chenal in the 3rd.

Kinnard's college play is violent and physical, and they probably loved that.

Enter a league though where every DL can take your worst punch, and he didn't have the athleticism (and/or maybe the brains? who can know) to supplement that aspect of his game.
