KANSAS CITY- Some may wonder what on earth Carl Peterson is doing going on vacation as players such as Grant Wistrom and Ahmed Plummer get snapped up.
Perhaps the problem is not that he's choosing not to, but rather that he mentally cannot.
Carl Peterson reportedly took a little known sports management course a few years back to try to "get his groove back". He flunked out and dropped the course after a semester.
The class was taught by Jim Harrick, Jr.
Questions on the final test included
If your defense is ranked next to last in the league, what do you do in the offseason?
A. Sign a big name FA
B. Trade for a veteran defender
C. Sign a few solid players
D. Take a vacation.
and
If your defense needs a lot of help, what position do you draft in the first round?
A. Cornerback
B. Defensive End
C. Linebacker
D. Running Back
He was the only student to fail the test.
Peterson declined comment, and then signed Eric Hicks to a 6-year contract.
