Darius Washington is SIGNED (not committed, SIGNED) and will attend The University of Memphis, you blithering morons. Coach Calipari just signed an extension through 2010 worth about $1.5 mil/yr and PUBLICALLY DENIED THE ****ING RUMORS LAST WEEK.

They just did it again. Unbelievable.

HE'S ****ING SIGNED, YOU DUMBSHITS.

Okay, it was just Savannah State in the "Who's that?" round of the CvC tournament, but not a bad start for young D-Wash. 10 points, 8 assists, 6 boards, and 4 steals in leading his team to a 102-40 win over the aforementioned mighty Tigers of Savannah State.

Unselfish play all around, including this diving effort by D-Wash:

<img src="http://espn-i.starwave.com/media/apphoto/TNLM10511120325.jpeg" style="width: 512px; height: 370px; border: 0" alt="" />

I think we played Savannah State last year. That's the kind of opponent they are. "They sound familiar... hey, I think we might have played them at some point last year." Still, I'll take 102-40 over a nobody rather than Mississippi State's 53-49 comeback win over FAIRFIELD.

George Mason's not a bad team, though... should present a much stiffer challenge than Savannah State. They beat IPFW 69-51 in the other Memphis-hosted game of the first round.

I was scratching my head when I saw those games and they said they were part of the CvC Classic. I've never seen national preseason tournaments before where they have cupcake matchups in the first round like that. I'm an Illinois alum, so I'm getting ready for three blowouts to start our season as we're playing Delaware St, Florida A&M and Oakland (not the Convicts, a small school in Michigan) for our first three games. Then it gets a little tougher with Gonzago, Oregon, and Wake Forest. After our woeful football season, we're ready for some success in basketball.

Mississippi State? ROFL..what a fraud they are.

Our exhibition games are done. We played and defeated both the EA Sports All Stars, and the football powerhouse Pitt State Gorillas. Our first season OOC game is vs North Dakota State...whose mascot eludes me at this time. Bison, perhaps?

I was scratching my head when I saw those games and they said they were part of the CvC Classic.Yeah... Basically warmup games for Memphis, Moo State (okay... maybe more of a cooldown), Cuse, and Cal in the first round, then a home game against a decent mid-major, then the MSG games.

Hell, Christian Brothers (DII school in Memphis) gave us a stiffer challenge than SavState. Even Lemoyne-Owen (also a DII school in Memphis) was almost equal to them.

That's not saying a lot. You could give Quin Snyder Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Larry Bird and Hakeem all in their primes and the team would still be an 8 seed in the Big Dance. Back when Bill Self still coached at Illinois he would coach circles around Quinnie-pooh in the annual border war game and he's not even that good of a game coach (he's an amazing recruiter so he gets away with it).

I think Illinois was in that tournament several years ago in its first year and it was only four teams, so that's why I got confused. The setup now is actually pretty cool because it simulates the big dance with the matchups getting more even as the tourney goes on.

This year's schedule should be very interesting... CvC, then the Hall of Fame Game against Maryland, then the Jimmy V Classic (also at MSG) against Pitt, then at home against Providence and East TN State (the latter's a buy game, yes, but they only lost by 3 to Cincy in the NCAA tourney last year), all before January.

All of that is followed by a trip to Austin to face Texas in the first game of the new year, then conference play starts with an early home game against Marquette and a road trip to UAB. DePaul at home, then a trip to Louisville for the first game of the 2005 home-and-home set. The conference regular season closes out at Charlotte, at home for the last game against UL with both teams as members of C-USA, a trip to Saint Louis U, and the C-USA regular season finale against UC. Then the C-USA tournament at the FedExForum after that.

Good thing is, this team is loaded. If D-Wash can become half the player that Burks was by February, we should be in amazing shape.

Neither are anything like South Carolina fans. What a conceited bunch of cocks. It felt so good to beat them, both in the NIT championship game in 2002 and the NCAA tourney last season.

West Virginia fans are the worst.
Now to answer your question. The only reason I have any problems with KU is because of the way their fans treated me when I moved here.
I sat watching the title game at Tanner's keeping pretty much to myself and was pelted by trash the whole game. I work with a bunch of KU fans that rid me pretty hard until we beat them. I never give any shit to MU fans because they actually talk about matchups and games instead of beating their chests. I give Saul some crap about KSU but it's all in good fun.
Now you show me a KU fan that isn't a prick and I might change my attitude. Imagine if you lived in Syracuse and had trash shot at you the whole NC game? I would imagine that you wouldn't have a very high opinion of SU fans either.

Wasn't SU kicking KU's ass all over the court for 99% of that game? I can't stand fans that talk trash (or throw it in this case) when their team is getting its ass kicked. That's about as bad as the morons on the Ravens defense celebrating after tackling Priest when he gained 15 yards on the play.

I had a guy come up and scream as loud as he could in my ear and a group of them try to pin me to the wall in the bathroom. Then some Tiger fans walked in and broke it up. I went down to the Hearnes center last year for the MU/SU game. There was some trash talking and razzing before the game but after it started we had a good time asking questions about each others players and what not. It was a pleasant environment and I wouldn't have walked out feeling any worse if my team hadn't won.

Sounds like a bunch of arseholes to me. Frankly, if what you're saying is true then I'm embarrassed being a fan of the same team as those fools. But you can't judge an entire fanbase on just a few jerks at a bar under those conditions. That game was pretty screwed up for KU fans anyway. McNamara and Anthony were hitting everything covered or not. Guess it was just Syracuse's day.

And as for MU fans, they have plenty of their own jackasses. Ever heard of the Antlers? Another example would be when KU played them in football one year. Some assholes threw (or poured) liquor at(on) the KU band. WTF?
