In areas like DL, OL, and DBs, do we need to make sure that we're drafting (for example) 2 DEs and 2 DTs, or can we just take 4 DTs if we want? It might be a bit of a pain, but it'd be nice if we could keep it more realistic in that regard.

Also, are we running all 4-3s, or can we run a 3-4?

whoman69
07-31-2004, 12:16 PM
The game has no way to differentiate between a tackle or guard, a corner or a safety, a split end or flanker. It is feasible to put together a lineup with 4 DEs but when you put your starters together the game does ask where you wish to put them in the lineup. The formations used will be a product of the gameplan.

Have we established a draft order? Why yes, we have, Kyle.Got the draft order in place for the Draft which will be next Sunday, Aug 1 at 1230 central time. The draft order will reverse in even rounds so if you draft last in the first round then you will draft first in the next.

If someone would be so kind as to draft for me, I'd still participate.

The league needs a last place team anyway, don't we? :banghead:

Or if people aren't showing up, we could just draft for eight teams or something. I'm thinking this could take a long time.
I don't think its fair to draft for another person. If they don't pick now then we could have an elimination pick to leave players for other teams. So when you draft, you also choose a player to bump from the list for those not here. In that way the teams here should have stronger teams, but no so much so as to have an unfair advantage.

keg in kc
08-01-2004, 11:48 AM
I wouldn't want to draft for another person anyway. I'd be afraid of screwing it up and having them think I did it on purporse. Or even worse, of picking a team for them that's better than mine. ROFL

Eh, he'll want to pick. Let's just add another bump (or maybe two) each round.

We probably should add two since we're bumping four people each round for six (now seven) teams.

Here late... :banghead:

Nah, we should keep the bump list. While I'm a bit annoyed that people didn't show up, I think it would create a huge advantage if three of us get to cherrypick off the best players.I disagree, because the strength of the (overall pre-draft) rosters lies in the middle. We've done the right thing by saving them high-round type players, but those will all be gone in the next several rounds. After that, it's mostly just even.

We can also keep an eye on our draft boards, and if we think we're not leaving them with enough, we can always start bumping again. But, honestly, maybe you're not having this problem, but it's been really difficult for me to come up with four picks every time my name comes up.

I'll do it, though, if that's what we (or whoman) decide.

Seriously, one thought that has occurred to me with the no-shows is the possibility of just pitching this draft and starting over by just making it a regular post on the main board. People draft whenever they feel like it, and then pm the next guy on the list. If you don't draft in 24 hours, you can pick whenever you get on, but the draft moves forward without you. That'd take a long while, but it would also eliminate a lot of headaches.
