I'll be in Salt Lake City next week on business and I might have some free time one day to do some sight seeing. Anyone have any recommendations on things to do and see in Salt Lake City? I'm guessing none will have anything to do with alcohol...

I've heard that they've got an incredible genealogical library at the Mormon Church there. It's not exactly sightseeing, but it might be cool to try to hunt down information on your ancestors.

The best part about Salt Lake Shitty is seeing it as you're taking off in your jet headed home. Good luck bud. :)

You could try the vast amount of Jello that you'll surely find. Mormons are very proud of their Jello recipes.

Float some crap in the Salt Lake.

Yeah, I remember when I was 10, we went to SL and the guide said you could just sit upright in the lake due to the very heavy concentration of salt. We tried it, and it worked!
Just make sure you don't get any in your eyes. :deevee:

Break into the Tabernacle. If you get caught, tell 'em you're from the Knights of Columbus.

See if you can find John Tait.

or you can play a game ala 'To Tell the Truth' to determine who is John Tait's REAL mom.......

You know, I think I am mistaken regarding this Salt Lake City Trip......there's a LOT of things to do there. ;)

If you like Chinese food, I can recommend an amazing little restaurant in SLC. It was a pleasant surprise on my last business trip there.

There are two choices........I called an escort service there once and I got this gorgeous broad....I mean to tell you, she was gorgeous. Boobs and butt were great....anyway, you could take the 100 mile trip on I-80 and go to wendover, NV....that is a blast too.

Wow, I can see you've got no useful information out of starting this thread. Not that I don't enjoy the humor, but damn!

Salt Lake is actually a beautiful city. There is tons to do if you're into outdoorsy stuff that might involve mountians. If not, the pickings are a bit slim. There is very good shopping, though. Be sure to check out the outdoor mall thing -- I think it's called The Gateway (it's very near the Detla Center where the Jazz play). Also, whether you have an interest in religion or not (I don't, I'm agnostic), the temple and all of Temple Square is quite an impressive piece of work. The Crossroads is another nice mall that is near Temple Square.

I've been there twice, and both times I did a lot of wondering around downtown alone at night (no car, no company...damn business trips). Salt Lake feels incredibly safe for a city of it's size -- probably due to the demographics of it's population. The people are very friendly. It really is a very nice place. I'd happily raise kids there.

It's not much of a party town, though. There are bars and clubs that sell alcohol, but yo have to have a membership. Most of the time they are free, but it just means you have to give them your name and address and crap in order to get in and get a drink. There are no liquor stores. Yeah, crazy.

So it just all depends what you like to do. If you're into shopping or outdoorsy stuff, you'll love it. If you're going to raise your family there, you'll end up with insanley wholesome brats. If you're going there to get drunk and laid...well, don't.
