Sorry if this is old news! (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/040917)

Have you noticed that the Chiefs have the exact same problem as the Ravens? They can't throw the ball, they can't play from behind, and they don't have a single WR who can make a play. Contain Holmes or Lewis, get a lead and you're beating either team. Throw in the fact that the Chiefs D is like the Bizarro Ravens D and I don't understand this KC affection at all. That's a 5-11 team with one great player. What's the difference between them and San Diego? Seriously, you tell me.

Couldn't come up with an answer, huh? Me neither.

chiefs are heading to 8-8 just enough to keep the crowd coming back for another season

As exciting as last year was, I enjoyed the 2002 season the most. And I think we were 8-8, so yea I'm part of the problem.

So the Chargers are really the Ravens? :hmmm:

Simmons is clearly a dipshit.

You'd have to be a moron to say that the Chiefs are just the Chargers with a great running back, seeing as Sandy Eggo might have the best back in the league.

Someone should remind that ass clown that the Chiefs had 6 O players in the probowl last year. What a complete fugtard!

Can't throw the ball? Gee, I guess it was my imagination that Trent had over 4000 yards passing last season...

And the Ravens had quite a few as well on defense.

I still don't get how the Chargers fit in this thing though....

A difference between the Chiefs and Chargers is the spelling after the 2nd letter. ;)

The only difference between the Chiefs and Chargers is the spelling after the 2nd letter.

Well there you go....

He didn't need to drag the Ravens into the conversation to figure that out did he? :)

We can't play from behind?

We were down 10 when we beat Denver at arrowhead last year.

We were down like 17 when we beat Green Bay at Lambeau.

We fell behind 10-0 to Pittsburgh in week 2 last year.

We did come back from a 10 point deficit at half to get back into the game last week.

That's just off the top of my head.

the Difference?
A very solid Offensive line
A very good Veteran QB
The best TE in the league
An Offense that finished near the top in scoring the past 2 years.
A probowl KO and Punt Returner
A top Run Blocking #2 TE
Pro bowl caliber safeties
Top notch Special teams
13-3 Record last season...division Championship..playoff game
Not coached by marty
QB not coached by marty Jr
A Legit Homefield Advantage

What they have in common
Top Shelf HB and FB
Mediocre WR corps
Rookie Kickers
new defensive schemes
Rookie DTs from Oregon
Fair LBs, Not excellent
Average Secondary

I can say plenty to counter that pathetic point:

1) It's only been one game so far. Look at Green stats for the last two years and tell me we can't throw the ball. IIRC we lead the league in ypc/ypa.

2) Holmes is our only player? So Green and Gonzalez don't count? Dante Hall doesn't count?

3) We came back from behind in several games last year. Green Bay was an amazing come back.

Difference?

2 Future HOF'ers on the OL, and one of the best OL's in the NFL
1 Pro Bowl QB
1 Pro Bowl TE
1 Pro Bowl Return Specialist
1 of the best Safety Tandems in Football
1 of the best Coaches & staff in the NFL
One of the best and loudest NFL stadiums

Besides all that, it's a dead fuggin heat.....

Simmon summeded up in his first line (the line elft out) "I don't like either of these teams. At all."

When all a person is looking for is negative that's all they are going to see.

The difference between KC and Thandy Eggo?

Let's see here ...

13-3 > 4-12
8 Pro Bowlers > 0 Pro Bowlers
Dante, Priest, Gonzo, Green, Best Oline in football > LT
Dick Vermeil > Marty Chokenheimer

Anything else I'm missing?

I disagree...Teej's dissertation blaming the fans for KC's personnel will remain a close second to Packfans ridiculous comparison of Holmes to D. Bennett...

Those are the top 2, easily...this one is definately top 5 material.

The biggest difference this year is that the Chargers are 1-0 and the Chiefs 0-1.

I'm still baffled why this dude spends the whole paragraph comparing all the similarities between the Chiefs and the Ravens (although the similar defenses between us and Baltimore kind of threw me), then wraps it up comparing us (and Baltimore I assume) and the Chargers.

Yeah, I just read this... he did rip Plummer again in the article...

JAGUARS (+3) over Broncos
I'm not crazy about this Jags team. Believe me. But this has to be the dumbest line of the week. I mean ...

Did you SEE Jake Plummer's lefthanded interception from his own end zone?

You saw that, right? Well, the guy is almost 30 years old!!!!! He's not changing! He's never changing!!!! He's like one of those prep school friends who never gets a real job and lives in his parents's guest house for a few years, and you're thinking, "He'll get it together at some point," and then you look up one day and he's 32. That's Jake Plummer. It's not happening. It's never happening.

I'm afraid to make fun of Simmons though, he's usually better than the "experts" at picking this stuff.... he's pretty harsh on KC though.
