and he may be correct. There is not a whole lot you can do to change this during the year.

Lutz thinks we'll win this Sunday against Houston and then lose until we play the Chargers at home on November 28.

Although he thinks we may be able to pull a couple out of our arse against possibly New Orleans and Tampa Bay.

We'd win atleast one of those games by luck.

Kinda like the Pats.

Like I said in the header, he thinks we might win against Tampa or New Orleans.

We'll probably be extremely lucky to finish 8-8.

What have New Orleans or Tampa shown playing twice at home so far that could make you fear them one bit?

Vick might kill us, but they don't have enough defense, IMO.

Didn't the ATL just hold the Rams to 17 points?

The Falcons will crush the Chiefs if they don't improve and they may crush them anyway. We have no chance to contain Vick or Warrick Dunn (if he's playing that week).

The Chiefs are the worst team I've seen so far this year...even the Cardinals are putting up a better fight and showing more heart than KC. Unless something dramatic happens, I think they'll be lucky to keep both NO and Tampa close...let alone win one.

As far as the Falcons, they have a better D than KC (as does every other team in the NFL), and the offense is clearly more potent as well. Barring an injury to Vick, the only questions are: How many will Atlanta win by, and who will rush for more yards, Vick or Holmes?

Our first string defense help the Lambs to 0 points through 1 half. :shake:

St. Louis no longer has a top offense. They've got an aging running back, a below average offensive line, good receivers, but an inexperienced quarterback who does make costly bad decisions.

That aside, the Falcons won't 'crush' us. They couldn't 'crush' us on their best day at Arrowhead. If you're the least bit scared of Warrick Dunn, who happened to get hurt yesterday, it's clear you're not a running back specialist.

Who the hell are you?

Oh, I get it. You guys are Ram fans, right? ROFL

You guys are pretty good at building up teams after they drill your asses into the ground.

You'd have to be a bit stupid to try and a link a picture to your signature from your C-Drive.

As I said... if he's playing that week.

You put an overweight mongoloid in against KC's rush D and he'd still pile up 100 yards at a couple of TD's.

You're basing regular season on preseason stats, and claim to know anything about football?

St. Louis no longer has a top offense. They've got an aging running back, a below average offensive line, good receivers, but an inexperienced quarterback who does make costly bad decisions.

The Rams may not be a top offense, but at least they aren't sucking nearly as much ass as KCs pathetic offense is. I'd trade KCs offense for theirs in a heartbeat. Other than Holmes and 3 of 5 starting linemen, KC has squat this year, including Gonzalez. BTW, I hate the Rams.

That aside, the Falcons won't 'crush' us. They couldn't 'crush' us on their best day at Arrowhead. If you're the least bit scared of Warrick Dunn, who happened to get hurt yesterday, it's clear you're not a running back specialist.

Why couldn't they? Carolina demolished the Chiefs without their starting RB and #1 WR...not to mention an OL in which only 1 player was in the same position as last year. Exactly which of the Chiefs will be assigned to Vick? Beisel? Fujita? A joke. Remember Plummer shredding the D with that slow-motion rollout? Now imagine the same play with a QB who can run faster than a Jake Plummer "bullet" pass. It will be embarrassing. IMO, an injury to Vick is KC's only chance.

One last thing: How can a "running back specialist" watch the Chiefs run D over the last 2 weeks and be optimistic? 340 yards allowed in 2 weeks, to a first-time starter and a backup? That's record-shattering bad defense.

We've outscored the Rams in the 2 games so far. The friggin' Cardinals held them to 17 points.

I guess those notoriously brutal Falcon and Cardinal defenses have posed a threat to 'the greatest show on turf'.

Chiefs have faced two of the better D's in the league, while St. Louis has faced two of the worst. End of story.

As for KC's defense being awful, duh. We do have the worst defense in the league. Pretty clear when you give up 28+ points to two mediocre offenses.

And saying we've been the worst team in the league for the first two weeks really exploits the fact that you haven't watched the Dolphins play. :p

C'mon, 1-9 to 3-7? That's stupid. That won't happen. This is the NFL, boys. Week to week, a team can go from looking bad to looking very good. Is this not the same coaching staff that got us 13 wins last year? Is this not the same coaching staff that made the offense the best in the league 2 years in a row? Settle down, chicken littles.

I think we'll improve as the year goes on. I don't even think some of our guys are in shape (obviously Morten & Kennison being a few). I do see shades of a solid defense here and there and I can only assume that these players will build each week on the next week. And I can only assume that Gunther can teach these boys how to tackle. However if they havn't learned how to tackle by now....

While I agree with you that in general Lutz is a "nattering naybob of negativity", please point out which games you think we'll win. Rembember Lutz already said we might win the Saints and Bucs games. Which games other than those two do you think we'll win?

As ridiculous as this might sound, we're bound to play one game where we play good defense.

Face it, it can't get much worse than it's been. And it's not like we've been blown out in both games. We've had reasonable shots at winning both.

I really missed them last year and the year before that.

If our offense does not come around losing 12 is possible given the horrible talent level we have on defense.

I see us winning Houston, @ Saints, a tough road win in Jax, and a toss up game between Atl and Indy.

I see the Chiefs losing for sure to, @ Balt, @ Tampa, NE, @ Tenn.
In the division, splitting the games, 4-4. I can the them going 4-6 thru the first 10. Not 1-9 though.

After looking at the schedule closer. As it stands now, no changes made on the team. The best we can hope for is 9-7, more likely 8-8. Wouldn't surprise me in the least to end up with a record of 6-10 to 9-7. I can't see more than 10 wins at this point.

Yeah, and then we will wait until Sept 1 to sign him.

I really do not like King Carl, but hey, he saved Lamar 6 mil this year.

There is no way in hell we'll be able to stay in the game with ATL/INDY IMO.

Lutz said 1-9 to 3-7. So his best case scenerio for us, is only one game worse than your worst case.

If the team doesn't improve, I don't see us challenging for much better than 6-10 overall.

Hopefully my fantasy team will continue to do well to help take some of the disappointment away.

If KC doesn't improve from what we've seen so far, I wouldn't be shocked at all if they opened the season 1-6.

Seriously, who do you guys see KC beating in the next 5 games the way they are playing?. Maybe Houston, but KC will be the underdog in every game after that until maybe Tampa Bay.

Historically we never win in Jacksonville or basically the state of Florida for that matter. Other than that pretty good analysis.
