SAN DIEGO (AP) -- San Diego Chargers special teams standout Carlos Polk will miss the rest of the season after aggravating a shoulder injury during Sunday's loss to the New York Jets.

Polk, who was put on injured reserve on Tuesday, originally hurt his shoulder during the exhibition season. He missed the season opener at Houston and returned for the Jets game.

To fill Polk's roster spot, the Chargers signed defensive tackle Eric Downing.

Downing played with Kansas City from 2001-03 and was in the Chiefs' training camp this year before being waived before the start of the regular season.

This actually sucks a little bit.........In that "he woulda been brought back on if a DT went down and now a divsion rival the Chiefs still have to play twice have an inside to the KC defense scheme"

Oh No........Now Tomlinson is bound to run for 150 yards.....

Great, now he can go suck for San Diego. :D Sure, he was looking OK in preseason but, what has he ever done for the Chiefs? Poor Nap, he's gonna have to jump on the Chargers bandwagon now.
