i would of put this into the other Cheek injury thread but it's been hijacked by Baseball stuff.

heard on the news that the injury to Steve Cheek may have just been a leg "cramp" now.

the chiefs haven't signed anyone yet, so apparently they still think he has a chance to be ok.

I think he's working an inside angle for the Texans. They trade him to us and now before the game he comes up lame? CONSPIRACY!

810 says calf injury... out about a month
Which one of their sources told them that, Wolverine Willie or MU Dawg?

About 50% of what 810 reports is crap and speculation. I take their info for what it is, crapulation.

However, everybody in town is reporting that something "snapped", and that would be one hell of a cramp to snap something. I read the same Vermeil quote, from yesterday afternoon in this mornings KC Star. Vermeil understands his players extent of injuries about as well as I understand quantum physics, and highly doubt Cheek experienced and snapping cramp.

I say scrwe Baker and bring back the black guy that boots them 95 yards. Sure he is inconsistant, but you are guaranteed lots of deep kicks, lots of fan souveniors from his shanks, and black punters are about as rare as black hockey players. We should not take him for granted.

Screw punting.

Our high-octane Offense should be able to get a first down or two.

If not, just have Green lob one up for grabs. CBs are always looking to pad their stats, so you know they won’t just bat it down for an incompletion.

I have a bad feeling about letting Baker back in here. Him not being on the team has been one of this season's bright spots for me. If he comes back he may not leave again. Then again maybe he was the straw that stirred the drink. :hmmm:

All the injury report on kcchiefs.com says is that he is questionable for the game due to a calf problem with an asterik that he hurt it in practice on Thurday.

i guess Baker is already back with team and on practice field (per 810)

but he also says he will not play for league minimum, so there may be contract problems with him.

I hate to break it to you, but there's very little octane in our offense these days.

Eh it was no big deal, I didn't even start the baseball discussion.... although if we have a couple more games like the first two it's gonna be time to start talking spring training again.... :)

Are there any NFL rules against doing a rugby kick with Trent rolling out and punting? It's not pretty, but it works pretty well, because the return team always has to keep part of their focus on defending a possible offensive play.

Did Baker ever get picked up by another team? We could sign him back in case of an emergency???

He is still out there. He says he want more than the league min to come in. He is trying to play hardball apparently.

I love it, he is out of work and wants to be picky about the amount of money he is getting paid? He has been in the league a while, minimum is way more than I will earn in the next 5 years. I guess his problem really is with where his head is at (stuck somewhere dark and stinky).
