I'd sell the picture for $5 if it came right down to it. Is that a loss of honor and integrity for someone who could give a damn whether my kids eat or starve? Absolutely not. Better pull yourself out of this man-code BS like it's some kind of charity event. Its eat or be eaten. Or maybe in this case, sink or swim. I'm swimming away with my $5.

For some people, respect and honor is still more valuable than money. You say you have no allegiance to someone like Michael Phelps, but you go on to say you'd sell a pic for $5 if it came down to it. That shows exactly where your allegiance lies. Your allegiance is to money, and doing anything to acquire it. There are several terms for that type of allegiance...

This isn't about survival or eat or be eaten and you know it. It's about your acknowledging that you'd do anything for money regardless of anyone's moral stance. You stick with your greed. I'm sure it will get you far in life.

And Dean Martin's persona of the alcoholic partier was an act.

Well the Dean Martin thing was a joke. :)

And as far as drug testing, people don't want you currently on drugs while working, true. But this country is so closeted about its drug use it's ridiculous. Most people I know, older folks included, has at least tried weed or some other illegal drug. (And that's just who would admit to it.) If we found out Phelps was a junky that would be one thing, but all this photo proves is he has handled marijuana paraphenalia.

Lovely. :shake:

I guess this will make Microsack and his nasty little friends happy, since, well, Michael Phelps never fed their kids.

gonna be dam near impossible to prosecute him

1. he won't testify against himself

2. the people at the party are in England and it happened like 6 years ago

3. a picture doesn't prove anything

This is great..the hypocrisy that takes place in this Nation is sickening. But Speedo and some watch company are already on record saying they will stand behind him through this. Plus, the IOC has already said they don't care. One of my friends said it was natural reaction to be attracted to something with water in it, but I countered with, I think he was attracted to it because it had a lot of pot in it.

He may not have been a "partier", but the man damn sure loved his drink regardless.

I have respect, honor and allegiance to my wife and kids. Not Michael Phelps. There nothing illegal about selling a picture like this. It isn't about money grubbing.

Do you really think Michael Phelps is going to suffer any for this? I think you are naive if you do. He was making millions before the Olympics. He makes even more now. I'll bet he makes money off this so-called scandel. More than the seller by a longshot. Bad publicity is not always bad. So really who is the winner here? I'd say Michael Phelps. At the very least it's put his name out there again. Staying relevant is a plus.
