Being happy with a selection is hardly the same as saying a player "is the model of what you hope a franchise QB to be."

I shouldn't have to state this.

Stafford, for example, could be Elway II. There is a better chance, however, that he won't, and if he develops into a multiple Pro Bowler and a two time All Pro, I'd say this more than justifies the pick.

And most fans should be "happy" about the selection.

If you draft a guy thinking he's a franchise player, an elway, a manning, an Aikman, and he turns into a Bledsoe, believe me, a fanbase is not happy with that.

If PIoli thinks stafford is an elway he will and should pick him. If he feels he's getting Bledsoe I doubt he will.
