In the interest of full disclosure, let me inform you that I’m friends with Coffman and his dad, Paul Coffman, the old Chiefs and Green Bay Packers tight end. Chase is represented by NFL superagent Tom Condon, another friend of mine. And, finally, Chase was a college roommate of Blake May, who can best be described as my adopted little brother.

You might argue that I have bias in favor of Chase Coffman.
End of article.

Zuttah isn't any good. You missed nothing.

Zuttah is a bit of a project, and he isn't a good fit for a team like the Bucs, who are a conservative power run oriented team.

Zuttah is a guy with nice athleticism and quicks, has shorter arms than you would like, and needs to hit the weight room and add some strength.

But with some work and development, he could be a good pulling guard, and even though he does have short arms, with good technique, because of his athleticism, he could compete at RT.

No worries... Albert will be at RT soon :p

Bucs are switching to a ZBS. I am hoping THIS is more geared towards him. I actually really like him, it was just last year the OL coaches were so awful he looked a lot worse than he really was when he played in place of Joseph.

They will have already picked their Missouri Tigers by then. Maclin.

Zuttah will still need to add strength and improve his technique, but he should excel in a ZBS.

It's because Coffman wasn't asked to block much in college so people just figure he can't. Coffman has plenty off size and is a quality worker. I don't see any reason why he won't develop into a solid blocker at the very least.

well what I want to know is what people are basing cottoms ability to block on. Sure he could block Tech Technical of the southwest schools all day long, but he has play 10 downs in the nfl. That is enough, along with coach speak, to say he is a good blocker?

I don't know. I haven't seen much of anything from Cottam yet.

Primarily because he's playing behind Tony. Reports out of TC and such were pretty good...

Yes, because you can become the #1 all time pass-catching TE in the NCAA by not being able to stay on the field. And in another post you said he wasn't athletic...huh? Have you seen him catching the ball or getting YAC yardage? Your statements are uninformed at best. You probably wanted Vernon Davis, didn't you? Is he the best TE in the draft based on your "measurables"? No, but he will end up being in the top 3 after a couple years.

Do you think he's athletic in comparison to Jared Cook?

And he does have durability issues.
