This is the Chiefs break out game, where we run the table. 15-1.

A 35 year drought can make you thirsty it can also make you delusional :)

Yes, very much so or just having some fun at the Raider's expense and being sappy in the process.

The 35 year drought, I believe, is now at 40 years without a Super Bowl victory. Time to change that.

They seem to moving the right direction but I would get ready for that drought to grow in numbers by a few years before it ends. Raider fans are stuck reading the obituaries to find any hope. I would never wish death on Al but am resigned to the fact he will never retire and his name in the obituaries is my only chance for hope :banghead:

Last year he was 6 for 17 for 55 yards.

And they won 23-8.

Damn it.

I knew they ran all over us, but I'd forgotten the extent of the embarrassment.

6-17-55. Mother****er...

About 300 yards IIRC.

So ironic that most are claiming we're going to beat the Raiders b/c of JR, when the fact is that it he's completely irrelevant, as last year aptly proves.

Gunther and Herm, or the lack thereof, are not irrelevant.

Well, hopefully the Chiefs won't be running the option this year, so that should help.

Because Haley and Clancy did so well in their first game?

I was speaking only about Oakland's QB play.

We're certainly better coached, and we'll be running an NFL offense, which, strangely, was missing all of last season.

We'll see how well the team "stops" the run, however. My guess is that the end zones will end up being the most successful in this regard, as I'm fully expecting to see Oakland roll up 200+ on the ground, with 300 a definite possibility.

One data point isn't enough to put those two into the category of Herm and Gunther.

After one week they are in the same category. The Chiefs defense played like ass for 90% of the game. The Chiefs offense played like ass for about 60% of the game. Thank goodness Haley was able to make some halftime adjustments on his side of the ball.

He intercepted the ball 22% of the time, Asamougha is 10% over the last two years.

Over the course of his career, he is at 35% of the time.

Asomugha has played 6 seasons in the NFL, he has a total of ten INT's. Eight of those came in one year.

Other than that one year, he has been very good, but not great.

In that one year, his PD to INT ratio was phenominal with 8 INT's versys 11 passes defensed.

For his first three years, he was considered a borderline bust. He has a great year, and then his reputation has carried him over the last two years.

It would be like Tamba Hali coming out and having 20 sacks this year and then having five or less the next two years.... and still being called the 'greatest'.

This.

I still hope/believe we can beat the Raiders this weekend.
