Here is a take on Clausen from Matt MCGuire over at Walter's...

Clausen is one of the most polished quarterbacks to enter the NFL Draft since Peyton Manning, and he is certainly, in my opinion, is one of the most NFL-ready underclassmen (in terms of QBs) in NFL Draft history. If you don't want Clausen, then no quarterback will EVER be good enough for this team.

I like Clausen. He is not an underclassmen if you look at how much experience he has. . . and in a pro style offense

I dont' know. I don't pay enough attention except for what I hear from other people. I was just concerned by Notre Dame fans who told me that he's got a little bit of an attitude problem, isn't overly smart, and has Carson Palmer-like pocket presence (if protection breaks down, he looks like a lost kid).

I was really high on the kid. I dont' know if there's any validity to those commenst.

That's because most of our fan base thinks if we draft another TE really high they're going to be the next Tony and basically be one of the best possession receivers to ever play the game.

Ditto. And if Locker comes out, we should have an excellent shot at one of the two since Detroit will not go QB.

Will a QB fix us next year? NO. But it will over the following 12 years or so.

Clausen is well polished, but I don't know if I'd go that far. Since Matt Ryan, yeah.

He is Bernie Kosar IMO. Good enough to take #1 but is between Franchise and Game Manager.

Didn't Stafford have some of those same issues. I wish like heck we would have traded up for that dude instead of Cassel.

His upside is as good as Ryan's IMO...so I wouldn't be pissed if we took him.

That is not exactly what the report says.

There was no chance we were getting Stafford. He was the consensus #1 and Detroit wanted him bad.

He could have grabbed Sanchez at best, but eh...he wasn't the same type of prospect as Stafford by any means.

Just saying man, if we have a chance at the guy it couldn't be all bad. Locker either if he comes out, and Casserly said earlier today that he still might.

They were trying to trade the pick for a long time. If we would not have gave up our 2nd for Cassel/Vrabel, our #3 and our 2nd rounder might have moved us up to #1 overall. We will never know though, so it is useless to argue over.
