I've been running a Phenom II 940 Deneb for 3 years now and have zero regrets. Awesome processor.

Plan on getting at least 8 more months out of it as primary machine.

I do admit however crying myself to sleep some nights for not dropping the extra $350 dollars when a webpage doesn't load .00005 seconds faster and I get 72fps in BC2 instead of 78fps.

Oh, why did I bring this up at work? :deevee:

I just ordered a 64GB SSD from Newegg this week. Should be showing up soon. I'm itching to try it out.

Are you switching from SATA to SSD? If so, give us an update on the performance difference. I've been on the fence for awhile with this decision.

I've got one...there is a HUGE difference. Windows boots full in about 25 seconds from turning on the computer. There is no more waiting while the hard drive reads and reads and reads...as soon as windows appears on the screen everything is ready to roll.

Also, the SSD makes everything load fast. BF2 loads maps so fast that I load before the server does and I get kicked. BF3 loads and plays very quickly as well.

I don't reboot too often so I'm planning on using it as a software partition. Graphic editing, games, etc. If I like it I might buy another one as a boot partition. I'm not in the mood to reimage and start over at the moment. I will probably keep a seperate hard drive just for file storage anyway.

This is the drive for the curious. I picked the one closest to $100 that got the best reviews:

Actually I don't think my mobo is SATA III but it's backwards compatible so that just makes it more futureproof.
